On January 29th, the domestic version of the Ford Flame was officially unveiled, and the domestic model has two versions of the Wasteland version and the Everglades version, although the price has not yet been announced, but off-road fans still have high expectations for this North American big G.
The appearance highlights the original off-road force
The exterior of the Wasteland and Everglades Editions pays homage to the individuality and practical interior and exterior design of the original Liema, and the body dimensions are 4825mm long, 2070mm wide, 1990mm high, and the wheelbase is 2950mm.
The front face adopts the design of borderless grille and iconic round headlights, and the six letters of BRONCO connect the two headlights, revealing a sense of technology in the toughness. The tail is a side-opening tailgate, and the design of the external spare tire highlights the original off-road force.
However, the two versions of the model also differ in exterior details, so let's take a look at this Everglades Edition first.
It features a dark carbon grey grille, matte black surrounds and 17-inch dark charcoal grey wheels, as well as luggage racks and wading hoses, plus a tread paint on the side of the body, EVERGLADES lettering and wading depth scales, all of which highlight its domineering style.
The front of the Wasteland Edition features a high-gloss black grille and 17-inch high-gloss black gunmetal grey trim Bigfoot wheels. On the side is a yellow triangle.
Despite their slight differences in appearance, they both have a modular body design with a roof and frameless doors that can be easily removed on their own, while the windshield-mounted mirrors are retained, making open driving stress-free.
In addition, the modular steel front bar not only has a huge room for expansion, which can be easily installed without damage such as winches and bull rails, but also can further improve the off-road approach angle when climbing extremely. The Ford Horse also offers a number of rebuild slots, allowing you to customize it according to your use and style.
The interior is intelligent and wild
Entering the car, the interior texture has been improved a lot, which is adjusted to the needs of Chinese users.
The pattern on the center console trim and the pattern on the seats are inspired by terrain elements, making it both wild and textured. There is also a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 12-inch LCD center display, which can provide rich, clear and eye-catching driving and entertainment information.
There is also a difference between the interior of the Wasteland Edition and the Everglades Edition, with the Wasteland Edition's interior trim and pattern being mineral yellow in color. The interior of the Everglades Edition features man-green trim.
It is worth mentioning that the domestic Lie Ma is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 high computing power chip, which makes it more convenient to use the smart car machine, and it also supports wireless CarPlay. In addition, the large memory and storage space (16G+256G) of the domestic Liema can support FOTA upgrade redundancy in the next 3-5 years.
Many people are worried that the interior is exquisite, whether it is not resistant to build, it is really too much to worry about. The floor of the Lie Horse can still be washed directly with water.
Off-road performance is still strong
In terms of off-road performance, the Ford Fierce Horse is still strong. The off-road geometry of the Ford Flame Badland and the Everglades version is the same, with an approach angle of 45°, a departure angle of 37°, a passing angle of 26°, and a ground clearance of 273mm. The 1700mm wheelbase provides better lateral control and stability, both in the city and off-road.
Among them, the wading depth of the wasteland version is 850mm, and the wading depth of the Everglades version is increased to 925mm through the blessing of the wading hose.
Moreover, the domestically produced Ford Badland and Everglades versions offer more configurations, such as the original factory standard Goodyear 35-inch OD mud tires, the size is LT315/70 R17, with 17-inch aluminum alloy anti-slip wheels and wide-body large wheel arches.
In terms of off-road performance, both the Wasteland and Everglades versions have a 4.7 rear axle ratio, Dana front/rear electronically controlled mechanical differential locks, EMOD intelligent full-time four-wheel drive system, and Bilstein three-stage nitrogen reduction, achieving the "peak from the factory". At the same time, both models are also equipped with a more intelligent anti-roll bar disconnect function to improve vehicle passability.
The Ford Horse also features the G.O.A.T. all-terrain intelligent management system, which pays homage to the original model's code name, which means "conquer any terrain". It can intelligently switch different off-road modes with the off-road scene, and the unique BAJA mode can take you to feel the passion of event-level off-road. The G.O.A.T. all-terrain intelligent management system can intervene in ESP/differential lock/anti-roll bar/TCU/ECU and other modules, which is the off-road version of intelligent assisted driving.
In terms of power, the Ford Liema is equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged engine with a rated power of 202kW and a maximum torque of 429Nm, paired with a 10AT gearbox, taking into account both power and energy consumption.
2024 is a year of hard off-road real kung fu, although in 2023, many models that resemble hard-core off-road will be launched, but most of them focus on resemblance, which is really sweaty in off-road ability. This year, the domestic Ford Lie Horse on the market, the domestic Toyota Prado upgrade, the arrival of the two major off-road giants can clean up the door of the domestic hard off-road, we do not know, but it is certain that these two cars will pull up the average off-road ability of the hard off-road vehicles on the market.
