Unboxing & Design
The first reaction when I received the fish tank was that it was really small, only 45cm, 25cm, 30cm in length, width and height, and it was obvious that it was not even half of it on my 1-meter-long cabinet. The ratio of the fish tank is 16:9, because I usually see too much of this size, and the visual feeling is quite harmonious. Open the cylinder for landscaping
I wanted to raise a small native fish like trout, so I decided to make a stream tank landscaping. There are no wild mining conditions in the magic capital in winter (mainly because of laziness), so I found a Taobao store, communicated with the customer service about the landscaping effect I wanted, and after taking a picture of the package, the customer service gave me a photo of the real scene the next day, and it will be shipped after confirming satisfaction.
This kind of service is quite good, saves a lot of trouble, and can also achieve the effect you want. The stones and antler branches in the picture below are a total of 88 yuan (the price is set according to the size of the fish tank, I chose a 40cm package), and I bought an additional 5 catties of stream sand (25 yuan) and some sterile cups of pepper grass (26 yuan).

When you place it, you can directly correspond to the position of the picture in the package, which can be said to be a lazy operation.
Remember to rinse it with water before entering the tank, the amount of 5 catties is enough to pave the bottom, but it feels better to have more, it is estimated that 6-7 catties will be more suitable, the red arrow in the picture below is the water mouth, the bottom sand here should be paved lower to avoid blocking, and the right side can be higher, and the height difference will look more natural.
Next, after cleaning the stone, you can put it in, just put it on according to the picture given by the merchant, and the details can be fine-tuned, and you can look comfortable on it.
The bottom sand and stone set look as expected, and it feels like it's a lot better all of a sudden, and then it's time to add water.
Because the fish tank is not big, I directly use the kettle for watering the flowers to add water, back and forth a few times in fact, it is full, try not to wash the bottom sand when adding water, so as not to shift the sand and turbidity. At first, you can pour it on the top of a large stone, and then you can cover it with a plastic film and add water after the amount of water has increased.
It was quite cloudy when I first added water.
Turn the pump directly to the maximum speed 3 to speed up the filtration cycle.
After only one night, the water was visible to the naked eye, and then I planted the aquatic plants with a long aquatic weed clip, I used 27cm straight tweezers, which was enough but felt that it would be better if it was a little longer.
The position of the aquatic plants is arranged according to your preference, and the roots are gently inserted directly under the stream stones without floating.
After that, you can add a little water stabilizer and nitrifying bacteria, adding water stabilizer because I don't have trapped water, I use tap water directly, which can remove some residual chlorine (mainly because of laziness), and nitrifying bacteria can help build a healthy water system.
Because of personal preference, I bought a dinosaur skull decoration on the Internet, and put it underwater to add a little atmosphere.
After putting it in the water, the lights are a dozen, and it feels like it will come out immediately, this kind of decoration is dispensable, you can arrange it according to your preferences, and there are many choices on the Internet, and some people use Lego bricks, blind boxes, models, etc. to decorate, which is also one of the fun of opening the tank. When buying decorations, you must pay attention to the size, this cylinder is small, and it will not look good if you buy too big. The one I bought is 7cm long and 4cm high, and the size is for your reference.
I add water according to the highest water mark of the fish tank, and I can see that there is still a lot of distance from the water surface to the top cover, and when I stand in front of me, I will see the reflection formed by the light above on the water surface, and at the same time, there is no water on the inner wall of the glass in this part of the upper part, and there are also fogging and water stains after that.
So I bought a small roll of light-blocking stickers, which can be used as light and water barriers, and it is not difficult to paste, just pay attention to the smoothness.
