Samsung added foldable phones, TVs, soundbars, and more to its self-healing program

Samsung is constantly working to make its products and processes more environmentally friendly. A few years ago, the company introduced a self-repair program that allows consumers to repair their devices on their own. Only some products, such as the company's Galaxy S smartphones, are compatible with the self-healing program. Now, the company is adding more products, including foldable phones, monitors, laptops, projectors, tablets, and TVs.

Samsung says it wants consumers to use their devices for longer. This reduces e-waste and the burden on the environment. The company is also starting to use post-consumer, pre-consumer, and recycled materials to make newer devices

Samsung has added nearly 50 products to its self-healing program, including the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5

The South Korean company has given a big boost to its self-healing program by adding support for several smartphones, foldable smartphones, and tablets. The company has expanded its partnership with Encompass Supply Chain Solutions, a leading supplier of replacement parts for home appliances and similar products. There are now nearly 50 Samsung products that are compatible with the self-healing program. These include Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5. The FE models in the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series are not yet compatible with the Self-Healing Program

All of these services use Samsung-certified professionals and cover both in-warranty and out-of-warranty products using original Samsung parts.

Samsung claims that it provides care insurance to more than 99.99% of consumers in the United States. With Samsung's Beyond Boundaries program, consumers can get after-sales service and repair locations within a 4-hour radius of their location. If there is no repair location within a 4-hour radius, they can choose a technician to visit their place under the Samsung Traveling Techs program.

Mark Williams, vice president of customer service at Samsung Electronics USA, said, "We know that consumers need reliable and convenient repair solutions to keep their devices up and running. This expansion is another way for Samsung to demonstrate its continued commitment to providing customers with choice. For those who want to do their own repairs, we give them more options to extend the life of their favorite products.
