This time, Putin is about to visit the DPRK, and the strategic complementarity is prominently reflected in the following aspects.
First, Russia has opened up an Asian theater of operations against the United States. We have previously proposed "resisting US aggression and aiding Syria", expecting Russia to open up a Middle East battlefield that will directly attack the US military. Now, the Middle East has achieved the same effect, with the Houthis enough for the United States to eat, Hamas and Allah in Lebanon, and Iranian ballistic missile strikes powerful. At present, the most beneficial thing for Russia is to open up the Asian theater and make the United States even more anxious.
In the Asian theater, it is not advisable for China and the United States to go to war directly, which is similar to a direct war between the United States and Russia, which is bound to be the rhythm of the destruction of the whole world. Therefore, a "proxy war" is certainly the most ideal. In this way, North Korea is the only candidate, but it is not necessarily a direct conflict, but it greatly increases North Korea's direct deterrence capability against the US military, helping to reduce pressure on the Russian side. Of course, as long as it doesn't really fight, this is also a good result for China.
Second, Russia is strongly supported by conventional weapons. At present, Russia's production capacity of weapons and equipment has been greatly strengthened, and military spending in 2024 will increase by 70% compared to the previous year and 3 times more than before the start of the war. However, due to the fact that Ukraine is supported by weapons and equipment from dozens of Western countries such as the United States, Russia's demand for ammunition is naturally very urgent, especially in terms of conventional weapons and ammunition, which plays an extremely important role in the positional warfare between Russia and Ukraine.
Due to the "Songun strategy" and the constant stimulation of the US and ROK troops, the DPRK is second to none in the world in terms of giant artillery and other aspects. At the same time, as long as the DPRK has a steady stream of resources, it will have absolute superiority and strong production capacity in the production of these munitions. In Putin's fight against the West, North Korea is the only country that dares to openly help with weapons. This is related to the extreme sanctions imposed by the United States and the West on North Korea. In other words, the DPRK has nothing to fear from the United States and the West. Not to mention that now there are nuclear forces!
Third, North Korea has made breakthroughs in missile and other technologies. After the visit of the supreme leader of the DPRK to Russia in September last year, the launch of the satellite was a great success, especially over the White House, which was extremely shocking. At present, the DPRK has made a wide-ranging, all-round, and systematic breakthrough in the development of its military strength. However, due to the long-term sanctions imposed by the United States and the West and the fact that it is in the initial stage of breakthrough, it urgently needs Russia's help in many cutting-edge technologies.
At present, the DPRK has not only successfully launched satellites, but also conducted underwater nuclear weapons tests. These breakthroughs are inseparable from further cooperation with Russia. This is also a very effective way to directly pose an overwhelming threat to the US military in Asia, and it is none other than North Korea. What's more, when the United States and other 16-nation coalition forces invaded Korea, China, Russia and North Korea had a glorious history of fighting side by side.
Fourth, the DPRK has broken the long-standing blockade imposed by the United States and the West. Under the long-term blockade of the United States and the West, it is difficult for the North Korean people to eat and energy. Russia, on the other hand, is the world's largest producer and exporter of oil. The strengthening of all-round "cooperation in all fields" between Russia and the DPRK will greatly alleviate the difficulties in production and life of the DPRK and allow it to have more energy and resources to produce weapons and equipment to contain the bullying country. This is an excellent time for Russia and North Korea to huddle together to keep warm. It is also a major turning point in the world's anti-hegemony cause.
Judging from public reports, Russia and the DPRK have made a lot of preliminary preparations for "cooperation in all fields" between the two sides. Both the Russian Foreign Minister and the Minister of Defense have already visited the DPRK. The Supreme Leader and Foreign Minister of the DPRK have also visited Russia. It is believed that Putin's visit to the DPRK will soon be ushered in. It was the first visit in decades and was of great value.
At the same time, while seeing so many benefits of Russian-North Korean cooperation, China's role is really a bit awkward. At this time, what we have seen is that the purchase of U.S. soybeans, the purchase of U.S. Treasury bonds, high-level economic and military talks have also been transmitted, and even on the financial and U.S. talks, the official account of the U.S. Embassy in China has also released the "Briefing of the Third Meeting on U.S.-China Financial Work". Not to mention. It is really difficult to understand how China is building a financial power and the United States, which has been besieging China, will conduct financial work conferences!
