As of January 11, the 2024 WTT Stars Challenge Doha has concluded the first day of competition. A total of singles 1/32 finals and doubles 1/8 finals were played on this match day, so the top 32 singles and the top 8 of doubles were all produced.

The national table tennis players participated in 10 of the games, except for Liang Jingkun/Qian Tianyi's "civil war" loss to Lin Gaoyuan/Wang Manyu, the other 9 foreign battles, the national table tennis won all. Liang Jingkun and Yuan Licen partnered in Men's Doubles, facing the cross-association pair of Ash/Exage, and they also encountered a lot of challenges, fighting hard in five games to win thrillingly.

Men's singles

In the top 32 men's singles, the national table tennis accounted for 7 seats. Among them, Zhou Qihao defeated Grote 3-0.

France's Alex Lebrun, Chinese Taipei veteran Zhuang Zhiyuan, and German veteran Boll were all upset and suffered a round of tours. Japan's Yukiya Uda swept Lee Sang-so 3-0, Hayasuke Togami defeated Pitchford 3-1, Shinozuka Daito narrowly defeated He Junjie 3-2, and Matsushima Teruku beat Gerardo 3-1 to pass the first round. Together with Tomokazu Zhangmoto, who had a bye in the first round, the Japanese team has 5 players to advance to the round of 32.

Women's singles

In the top 32 women's singles, the national table tennis occupies 8 seats.

In the first round of women's singles, Hong Kong, China's Du Kaiqin lost 1-3 to South Korea's Lee Shiwen, and Zhu Chengzhu lost 1-3 to Romania's Diaknu, all out. Yuan Jiannan was swept by Swedish chipper Linda Bergstrom, and "Indian First Sister" Batra lost 2-3 to Australian player Liu Yangzi. South Korean veteran Tian Zhixi narrowly won in five games, while another chipper, chipper Seo Hyo-won, went out 2-3. Thailand's two highest-ranked players in the women's singles face each other in the first round, with Palanam beating Sutasini 3-0 to advance.

Men's Doubles

All three pairs of national table tennis advanced to the quarterfinals. Lin Gaoyuan/Lin Shidong 3-0 Gulani/Kuwari (withdrawn), Ma Long/Wang Chuqin 3-1 Falke/Magnusson, Liang Jingkun/Yuan Licen 3-2 Ash/Exage.

Men's Doubles second seeds South Korea's Lim Joong-hoon/Lee Sang-so were beaten 3-0 by Japan's Hayasuke Togami/Teruku Matsushima. The other Korean pair, who are also top seeds Jang Woo-jin/Ahn Jae-hyun, comfortably advanced to the quarter-finals. Another Japanese pair, Tomokazu Haramoto/Daito Shinozuka, also qualified.

Women's Doubles

The three pairs of national table tennis all kept clean sheets against their opponents and advanced to the quarterfinals. Chen Meng/Wang Manyu 3-0 Jin Naying/Li Shiwen, Qian Tianyi/Chen Xingtong 3-0 Akula/Gorpard, Zhang Rui/Kuo Man 3-0 Nagasaki Miyu/Zhang Moto.

World No. 1 Shin Yubin/Tian Zhixi got off to a bad start, trailing 0-2 and stubbornly dragged the match into the deciding game, but ultimately lost to Hong Kong's Zhu Chengzhu/Ng Wing Lam 2-3 and missed out on the quarterfinals.

The top 5 seeds in the women's doubles of this tournament, in addition to the national table tennis pair Wang Manyu/Chen Meng, the South Korean pair Shin Yubin/Tian Zhixi, the Chinese Taipei pair Li Yuzhen/Zheng Yijing, the Japanese pair Miwa Zhangmoto/Miyu Nagasaki, and the Swedish pair Bergstrom/Carlberg, all went out in the first round.

Mixed doubles

Three pairs of national table tennis pairs broke into the quarterfinals. Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha 3-0 Exechi/Madarats, Lin Gaoyuan/Wang Manyu 3-1 Liang Jingkun/Qian Tianyi, Lin Shidong/Kuaiman 3-0 Ghana Sekaran/Batra.

Chinese Taipei's Lin Yunru/Chen Siyu, twice behind and twice equalised, collapsed after 5-6 in the deciding game, lost to South Korea's Zhang Yuzhen/Tian Zhixi, and went out in the first round.

In the quarterfinals of mixed doubles, there are two Korean pairs, and they are both in the quarter-finals, securing a place in the semi-finals in advance. There is also Hong Kong's Wong Chun-ting/To Hoi-king, Japan's Tomokazu Zhangmoto/Hina Hayata, and Romania's Ionescu/Szokos.

On the second day of the main event, there will be the 1/16 finals of the men's and women's singles, the quarterfinals and semifinals of the three doubles. The players who have a bye in the first round of singles will all make their debut.

Wang Manyu/Lin Gaoyuan will face teammates Kuo Man and Lin Shidong in the quarter-finals after facing teammates Qian Tianyi/Liang Jingkun in the first round of mixed doubles. The men's singles will face a lot of challenges in many matches, Zhou Qihao against Qiu Dang, Fan Zhendong against Francesca, and Wang Chuqin against South Korean player Ahn Jae-hyun, all of which are highly competitive. The two pairs of Japanese men's doubles will be the opponents of national table tennis in the 1/4 finals.
