Heating in the car
On December 18, 2023, a car was parked on the side of the road in Yuquan District, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia, and two people in the car had lost signs of life. According to the preliminary investigation, the car was equipped with a diesel heating device, and the police will further investigate whether the diesel heating equipment is faulty or leaking to determine the specific cause of death of the deceased.
Diesel heaters, also known as parking heaters, are heaters that use diesel as fuel. Because this kind of equipment is not brought by the original car, most of them are installed by the driver himself, and it is easy to cause improper exhaust emissions during use, resulting in a large amount of carbon monoxide pouring into the cab and causing poisoning.
