On November 27, 2023, the national standard "Express Recycling Packaging Boxes" (GB/T 43283-2023) was jointly issued by the General Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China, and will be implemented from June 1, 2024.
The purpose and significance of the standard
The standard aims to stipulate the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, etc. of recycled packaging boxes used in the express delivery industry to ensure the quality and performance of packaging boxes.
The development of standards is conducive to promoting environmental protection and reducing packaging waste, while ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of express items.
The main content of the standard
Classify:
The standard divides express recycling packaging boxes into three categories: nested boxes, folding boxes and combination boxes.
Nesting box: non-deformable, nestable when empty.
Folding box: deformable, foldable when empty.
Combination box: reproducible disassembly and assembly, detachable when empty.
Technical Requirements:
Physical properties of boxboard: tensile strength, right-angle tear strength, puncture strength, edge crush strength and burst strength of resin boxboard and plant-based boxboard.
Physical properties of the whole container: including empty container pressure test (no obvious deformation, crack or damage), vibration test (no looseness, crack or breakage), drop test (no obvious deformation, crack or breakage), etc.
Box size and tolerance: The basic module size is 600mm×400mm, and the dimensional tolerance should be less than or equal to ±2mm.
Structural requirements: For example, the angle between the side of the nesting box and the horizontal plane should be between 70°~80°, the folding box should be kept flat, and the combination box should be stable in stacking.
Printing requirements: the printing area should not exceed 50% of the total area of the box surface, the printing peel rate should be less than 10%, and water-based ink should be used.
Environmental Requirements:
Limits involving the total amount of heavy metals, solvent residues and harmful substances in adhesives, such as the total amount of heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium) shall not exceed 100mg/kg, and the total amount of solvent residues shall not exceed 10mg/m².
Cycle Frequency and Cycle Operation Management System:
Number of cycles: no less than 30 times for plant-based express recycling boxes, and no less than 50 times for resins.
Management system requirements: manage the number of recycling, status and asset information, realize the scheduling of express recycling boxes, and provide a common interface to achieve information sharing.
Test Method:
Including the measurement method of the physical properties of the box board (such as tensile strength test, puncture strength test), the physical performance test of the whole box (such as empty container pressure test, vibration test, drop test), etc.
Inspection Rules:
The process of factory inspection and type inspection is described, including sampling scheme and judgment rules to ensure that the quality of each batch of products meets the standard requirements.
Identification, transport and storage:
The express recycling packaging box should have a certificate of conformity, including product number, name, model, quantity, quality, volume and other information.
The transportation and storage requirements specify that the packaging box should be stored in cool, dry and ventilated conditions to avoid moisture and pollution and ensure its physical properties.
