In 1935, Zhang Guotao split the Red Army and the Party Central Committee, refused to carry out the central authorities' order to go north, went south without authorization, and deliberately murdered the central leaders. After Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai learned that the information provided by Comrade Hu Di on Zhang Guotao's splitting of the Central Committee was consistent with Ye Jianying's interception of Zhang Guotao's secret telegram sent to Chen Changhao, mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai immediately led the First and Third Armies of the Central Column and the cadets of the Red Army University to suddenly shake off Chen Changhao in the middle of the night and march north, escaping from danger and saving the Party Central Committee at a crucial moment.
