Diablo 4: What will carry over to Season 2 and prestige, map introduction

author:Acceleration in vain

Diablo 4 Season 2 will allow players to start over with new characters, but not all achievements that have been achieved will be lost. Here's what Season Two continues from the previous game.

Diablo 4 Season 2 offers a more relaxed lifestyle for players who don't want to replay the same missions and challenges over and over again – they want their time to be respected. The game now offers a more convenient gaming experience for players who are part of Diablo 4's Season 2.

Next, we'll take a closer look at what's going on in Diablo 4 Season 2 and what's not, and how they work. We'll also provide some tips to make it easier for you to navigate future seasons in World of Warcraft's newest hack-and-collect game. The good news is that it's much simpler than you might think.

When you start a seasonal character in Diablo 4, you will be forced to start over and will not be able to use previous seasons or any Eternal characters, i.e. non-seasonal characters before or after seasonalization in the game.

If you've already completed the campaign with a previous character, whether it's a seasonal or eternal role, you'll have the option to skip the campaign. This will automatically unlock all end-game content, such as the Top Dungeon, Whispers Tree, your mount, and the Helltide event. Basically, this is anything that is unlocked after Lilith is defeated and the end screen scrolls. Of course, any confrontation in the game is inseparable from a stable game network.

However, all side quests in the game are still available to you (even if you completed them in previous games), as are all other side events that are not related to the main story. You'll become a brand new character and need to reach level 50 without the help of the campaign, but the game offers enough content to keep you busy, like a seasonal journey.

If you skip the campaign, you'll see a new opening animation that introduces the season's themes and concepts. In the case of Season 2, this will be the emerging vampire threat. Think of it as (and future story content) as a side story to keep the characters busy between the main quest and the upcoming Weapon of Hate DLC.

You can always play new seasonal content, such as Vampire Quests, even if you want to replay the campaign with new characters. Think of it as a new and long-lasting side quest - but that's exclusive to Season Two.

What will carry over to the new Season? When you start a new Season, you don't need to start from scratch entirely. All the reputation you earn in Diablo 4 will be tied to your Blizzard library, not your Diablo 4 character, so that reputation will follow you into the new season.

Let's say you completed all the prestige challenges with your character in the first season or before the game's release, and unlocked all the rewards. Then this will be reflected when you start a new seasonal role. You'll also get all the rewards again, including 10 level ups, gold, Orbo, and everything else – a great way to get started.

To be clear, this is a prestige-based reward that applies to all characters, while some are only available to a single character, but this will become clear when you start the game.

If you've only unlocked some of your reputation rewards, you'll earn them when you start a new seasonal character. Your progress at each level also carries over, so think of it as a snapshot of your current progress. If you want, you can collect reputation with one character first and then complete it with another. But we find this to be a complicated and confusing practice, unless you have a clear strategy – which we'll provide below.

Your map progress will also carry over to the new Seasonal characters, including all the areas you've revealed, the waypoints you've unlocked, and the Lilith Altar you've activated. This will also contribute to your overall reputation, but the maps that progress the most from your main play or expedition will be copied and transferred to your new seasonal character.

Some waypoints will be locked until you activate one of them, and then the others will be unlocked after clearing the fortress where they are stored, so you just need to properly unlock the waypoints associated with the side quests.

Even if you've completed the campaign but missed some areas or waypoints, this will be what the map will look like in your next round of the game. But all dungeons, quests, and NPCs will be reset. Think of it as a brand new adventure, but with your existing map. As an added bonus, you will be able to see the waypoints you missed.

If you've played an early season before or started the main game before the season started, then it mostly depends on you and the character's progression. If you're barely starting, it may make sense to start over. However, if you're already halfway through the campaign, we recommend completing it so that when you start the new season, all the endgame content will be unlocked and you'll also keep your reputation and map progress. The extra 10 levels that come with prestige each season are especially helpful.

Don't worry about completing all the side quests, you can complete them with any character, but keep in mind that they are a great way to gain prestige. If you have a previous character, the ideal is to start a new season when you've already unlocked everything you need. For example, enter Diablo 4 Season 2 with a completed campaign, a fully explored map, and a completed reputation challenge.

Keep in mind that the rewards for the Lilith Altar are permanent and apply to all of your Eternal and seasonal characters. Therefore, it is well worth taking some time to unlock all of these rewards to ensure that all of your characters get a significant boost in stats. This will make it easier for you to level up, as you'll be able to tackle higher difficulty challenges earlier and will be crucial for the real endgame content.

That way, you'll have everything you need in a brand new game to participate in seasonal events right away. If you're eager to get involved in Season 2 but already have an existing character you've invested a lot of time into, you can simply unlock all the normal and veteran prestige tiers, maps, and complete the campaign before starting Season 2, upgrading to Nightmare difficulty, and unlocking everything else with your second character.

With seasonal rewards, you'll be able to reach level 50 in a short amount of time and can start where your previous character left off. By the time the next season comes, you'll probably have unlocked all the content and just enjoy all the new content that each season brings. Then, when the DLC rolls out, you can choose your favorite character to play.
