At 10 o'clock in the morning of January 1, facing the warm winter sun, under the Yellow Crane Tower, a thousand-year-old building and a city landmark, the New Year celebration activity of "turtles and snakes resting on yellow cranes, painting a dragon with one stroke" was grandly held for hundreds of Chinese and foreign tourists.
More than 100 students, tourists and citizens who love calligraphy gathered at the foot of the Yellow Crane Tower, under the leadership of Qu Zhongmou, vice chairman of Hubei Calligraphers Association and chairman of Wuhan Calligraphers Association, Chu Qunjie, vice chairman of Wuhan Calligraphers Association, Qin Yuanchang, vice chairman of Wuhan Calligraphers Association and chairman of Wuchang District Calligraphy Association, and Ming Mei, professor of the Academy of Fine Arts of Jianghan University.
At the event site, the Jimu News reporter saw that Qian Ningyi, who was from the sixth (fourth) class of Poyang Street Primary School, wrote the words "dragon" and "fu" smoothly. It is reported that the 1,800-year-old Yellow Crane Tower, as a landmark of Wuhan City, will launch a 100-person phalanx every New Year's Day to show the traditional cultural atmosphere in the form of calligraphy and painting to welcome the new year, and open an auspicious New Year. In 2024, the Yellow Crane Tower will integrate the expectations and dreams of the city into this calligraphy and painting welcome, bringing together Wuhan's famous calligraphy and painting artists, primary and secondary school students, international students, citizens and tourists to share their hopes and dreams at the special moment and special landmark of the New Year's Eve, lighting up the New Year with creative whimsy and showing the city's style.
At the same time, on the same day, the Wuhan Han Opera Theater in the Yellow Crane Tower Park East Square was also held, and the classic repertoire such as "Eight Immortals in the Sea" and "The Drunken Concubine" was overwhelming, attracting many citizens and tourists to gather to watch, take pictures and check in.
At the event, Ms. Zhang, a tourist from Changsha, introduced to her children while enjoying the Chinese opera: "This is our traditional Chinese drama, which belongs to the intangible cultural heritage, it is beautiful!" Ms. Zhang said, "I am really lucky to be able to get so close to the drama in the scenic spot!"
