Dance troupe
Founded in 2006 and named Shanghai Student Art Troupe in December 2022, the Pudong New Area Student Art Troupe has two district-level dance troupes. The team has 24 members of the municipal league, 72 members of the district league and more than 300 reserve members. It has won the honorary titles of "Welcoming the World Expo - 100 Outstanding Cultural Teams" and "Shanghai Citizen Cultural Festival - 100 Outstanding Citizen Dance Troupes", and is an off-campus dance team with a good reputation that is active in various performance competitions in the district, city and the country.
In recent years, the dance troupe has created a series of dance works that are in line with the characteristics of young people of the times, reflect the mainstream value orientation of society, reflect the feelings of family and country, and inherit Chinese virtues, such as "Take You as a Mirror", "Dream of the Big Plane", "Snow Doll" and other masterpieces, baptizing the hearts of students and cultivating their sentiments through works.
The dance troupe has been committed to the creation of new works for many years, and has completed more than 10 original works and more than 30 adapted works for Xi, with different themes and styles, which are deeply loved by students. "Take You as a Mirror" won the first prize in Shanghai of the "7th National Art Exhibition for Primary and Secondary School Students", "My School Bag" won the new work award of "Shanghai Qunwen System Newcomer New Works Exhibition", "Boundless Love" won the first prize in Shanghai for the "Shanghai Student Dance Festival Performance Dance Special", and other works have won more than 30 awards.
While committed to its own development, the dance troupe actively radiates more than 30 grassroots schools in the district through the grassroots service school activities under the "Serving Schools and Expanding Functions", helping many remote schools to form dance clubs, achieving a breakthrough in dance art, and allowing more students to enjoy the charm of dance art. The team teachers have guided the school's works to win more than 20 awards, some schools have participated in municipal competitions on behalf of Pudong New Area and won good results, and some schools have also applied to become Pudong New Area Art Characteristic Schools.
In 2022, with the support of the Moral Education Department of the District Education Bureau, the Dance Troupe took the lead in establishing the "Pudong New Area Primary and Secondary School Art Education Hu Yunqi Dance Teacher Studio" named after Hu Yunqi, a national model worker and a special teacher in Shanghai, to further realize the interconnection of teaching resources. The team invited Ms. Hu Yunqi to give a lecture on "Practice and Thinking on Children's Dance Creation" for art teachers in primary and secondary schools in the district, and also invited experts such as Professor Chen Jiannian and Professor Zhang Lin to give various dance lectures. In addition to academic lectures, Hu Yunqi's team also went to Beicai Senior High School, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Experimental Primary School and other schools to guide and teach rehearsal classes, impart experience in running a group, and improve the quality of school club programs.

Drama troupe, opera troupe
Founded in 2005, the Pudong New Area Student Art Troupe Drama Troupe and the Xiqu Troupe currently have three teams: the First Drama Troupe, the Second Drama Troupe and the Xiqu Troupe. In 2022, the Opera Troupe of Pudong New Area Youth Activity Center was rated as a Shanghai Student Art Troupe, including Peking Opera, Kunqu Opera, Yue Opera, Shanghai Opera and other operas. The dedicated space covers an area of 858 square meters and the teaching facilities are fully equipped. There are 3 full-time teachers, 12 external experts and teachers, with strong teaching force and strong professionalism. In 2019, the Drama Troupe was awarded the honorary title of Pudong New Area Civilized Team, and in 2023, the Joint Squadron of the Drama Troupe of the Pudong New Area Youth Activity Center won the "Four-Star Medal of Honor" of the Shanghai Red Scarf Medal and was named the 2023 National Red Scarf Squadron.
Since the establishment of the team, the drama troupe has rehearsed many excellent works such as "The Runner", "Going Away", "Song of Ideals", and "Core" Ball Adventure". In the past five years, the recitation works "The Last Tibetan Antelope" and "Clear Love" won the first prize in the 6th and 7th National Primary and Secondary School Students' Art Exhibition and Drama (Recitation) Special Competition in Shanghai's Art Performance Competition; In the classic recitation competition, he won the first prize in the municipal and national middle school groups, and his instructor Tang Minhong won the municipal and national excellent guidance awards; he won the first prize in the recitation of "Red Sorghum" in the "Centennial Dream Flying - Extracurricular Education Units of Shanghai Education System to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China"; and the recitation of "Forever Nine Years Old" From 2019 to 2023, he won 15 golds, 7 silvers and 11 bronzes in the art competitions (recitation, story) and other projects for primary and secondary school students in Shanghai.
The opera troupe has rehearsed excerpts from Peking Opera such as "Blocking the Horse", "Yang Paifeng", "Three Forks", "Farewell My Concubine", "Erliu", "Deep Night", "The Drunken Concubine", "Exploring the Valley", and Kunqu Opera "Garden". He has won the first and second prizes and gold, silver and bronze awards in the previous competitions such as the National Primary and Secondary School Students' Art Exhibition in Shanghai, the Shanghai Student Art Competition, and the Shanghai Student Drama Festival (Chinese Opera Drama). At the same time, the team brought the opera project into the base school for development, and achieved a good demonstration and leading role, becoming a demonstration brand team for the development of opera activities in Pudong schools.
The drama troupe and the opera troupe also regularly sink to grassroots schools through high-quality teaching teams, strengthen cooperation and linkage with "one-stop" drama and opera characteristic schools, support weak drama schools, realize professional demonstration, lead radiation, and promote the development of school drama art education. Over the years, the drama troupe and the opera troupe have actively created a stage for the students of Guangzhou, encouraged students to actively participate in various competitions and exchange activities at the national, municipal and district levels in science and technology, art, Young Pioneers and other levels of science and technology, art, Young Pioneers, etc., and created a large number of excellent programs, which have won many successes.
