A monk in the Tang Dynasty, his legs curled up in bed for three years, after a dream at night, he walked like flying

During the Tang Dynasty, there was a big family surnamed Liang, who was not only wealthy, but also a scholarly family. But the old man of the Liang family was sad all day long.

It turned out that he had a son, who was smart, handsome and dashing. But when he was 15 years old, he suddenly got a strange disease:

The two legs were weak and weak, and at first I thought it was not resting well, but later, the disease progressed so seriously that my legs curled up, and I couldn't even walk, so I could only lie down in bed, just like what is now called "myasthenia gravis." ”

However, one day, he had a dream, and the next day he walked freely and walked like a fly, as if he were a healthy person.

This is a strange thing, and everyone is full of doubts and can't help but talk about it.

For a while, everyone had different opinions, and some said that Master Liang, who usually accumulates virtue by doing good, often takes out money, gives alms, repairs bridges and roads, and relieves the poor, and is a well-known good person.

During the famine years, Mr. Liang often set up a big pot in the courtyard to boil porridge and give free money to the victims of hunger and cold. It is also said that Master Liang usually eats vegetarian food, releases life, and recites Buddha to make immeasurable merits.

No matter how much discussion was outside, only Liang Gongzi understood what was going on in his heart, and he still clearly remembered the strange scene in his dream.

That day, as soon as he went to bed, he saw an old monk standing in front of him with kind eyes. Liang Gongzi asked respectfully, "Master, where did you come from, is there anything to do with my house?"

The old monk said, "You are the one who often calls and recites my name! The old monk motioned for Liang Gongzi to sit down, and then grabbed two handfuls with his hands on top of his two knees.

Liang Gongzi felt that both knees seemed to have been pulled out of a nail six or seven inches long. He suddenly felt that his legs were free, and he was able to stand and walk, and his heart was overjoyed.

The old monk got up to leave, but Liang Gongzi immediately got up and knelt down, and asked the old monk and said, "The master is not thankful for his great kindness, can the master tell me: What sins do I have? Why do my legs curl up like this, so that I can't walk?" ”

The master didn't say a word, and pointed to Liang Gongzi's eyebrows with his hand. Childe immediately seemed to be asleep, and saw the scene in a trance:

A big man with a long beard, he was a well-known hunter, and he often caught birds and animals, and then tied them up, restrained them, and sold them in the market.

The bound birds, beasts, and beasts, with tears in their eyes, looked at the hunter helplessly. Animals are born to be eaten.

The hunter had no mercy in his heart, and he continued to live this life of hunting, killing countless birds and animals.

Liang Gongzi opened his eyes, and the old monk was gone. He suddenly understood: paralysis in bed is the evil cause he planted in the past, and the retribution he reaps now.

Now, because of Master Liang's good deeds, good deeds, and accumulated merits, coupled with his own frequent recitation of Buddhist scriptures and repentance of his karma, his evil retribution was eliminated and he was able to restore his healthy body.

Liang Gongzi also understood that this old monk was the incarnation of Guanyin Bodhisattva. Why did he say that?

The young Liang Gongzi is handsome and intelligent. He has a good family background, and he has hired a private school since he was a child.

He never forgot to read, and the books he read were like a stream, and Mr. praised him more, congratulating Master Liang on his noble son, and he will definitely glorify his ancestors in the future, and his future is immeasurable.

Liang Gongzi is also full of ambition, and he wants to gain fame, seal his wife and son, and glorify his ancestors.

However, the sky is unpredictable. When he was fifteen years old, he got a strange disease, like the current "myasthenia gravis", and later, the disease was so severe that he was curled up in bed for three years, and became a cripple, lying in bed unable to move.

The parents were anxious, in order to heal Liang Gongzi's legs. His parents spent a lot of money and went to famous doctors for treatment, but there was no improvement.

Drinking decoction and acupuncture, as long as the illness is cured, they have thought of any way, but there is no improvement in the slightest.

Liang Gongzi, who was young and healthy, could only lie in bed all day long, and his mood fell to the bottom.

Lying on the bed, useless, but it costs a lot of money in the family, Liang Gongzi is even more disheartened, he washes his face with tears all day long, depressed.

When he was a scoundrel, he suddenly saw a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva enshrined in his home, and he had heard that Guanyin Bodhisattva was compassionate and could save the suffering.

Like a drowning man who grabbed a life-saving straw, he asked his father to invite Guanyin Bodhisattva's "Pumen Pin" and read it devoutly, praying for Guanyin Bodhisattva's rescue, so that his condition could be improved and he could walk freely.

Perhaps he had a relationship with Guanyin Bodhisattva, and every time he recited a Buddhist scripture, he felt the blood flow speed up all over his body, as if there was a blessing. He read it reverently, oblivious to the passage of time.

Since then, he has to recite Guanyin's "Pumen Pin" over and over again every day, recite the name of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and sincerely pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva, and hope is rekindled in his heart, and his heart is becoming more and more clear and full of joy.

Three years later, he had one of the above dreams, in which he saw a kind old monk who pulled the nail from his leg with his own hands and told him, "I am called by you!"

In order to repay the Buddha's kindness, Liang Gongzi has been devoted to the Buddha since then, and he wants to become a monk.

Helpless, his parents did not agree, looking at his gray-haired parents, Liang Gongzi couldn't bear it, he obeyed his parents' wishes and became a layman practicing at home.

He devoted himself to chanting sutras to the Buddha, and after a few years, he became proficient in meditation, and sometimes he entered meditation for three days and three nights.

In the early years of Emperor Wen of Sui, Liang Gongzi's parents had died, and after he buried his parents, he officially became a monk, with the legal name: "Hong Man".
