Walk into the Beijing West Railway Depot: a small station with a person in the downtown area

Beijing, January 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Every Spring Festival, hometown, reunion is the key word for ordinary people, and responsibility and dedication are the key words for all railway people. At the shijingshan south station of the west depot of the Beijing Railway Bureau, there is a small station that is not even known in the railway system, which is the 101 station located in Minhang Road, Haidian District, Beijing.

Although the small station does not pick up and drop off passengers, it is particularly important. During the Spring Festival every year, in order to meet the travel needs of passengers, a large number of passenger trains will always be opened in Beijing, and when these vehicles complete the journey and temporarily stop, the 101 stations under the jurisdiction of Shijingshan South Railway Station will become the temporary storage place for these vehicles.

A series of tasks and tasks such as bus care, anti-slip inspection, turnout pulling in shunting operations, etc., there is always only one person in the small station.

The small station work is three shifts, three people rotate, one person on duty for 48 hours, 52-year-old Yang Wenkui is one of them. Since he joined the work at the age of 19, he has been working in the driving position, and has worked as a liaison, shunting chief, assistant attendant, station attendant and other positions.

"To do this position, I have to take on this responsibility, and I have long adapted to the state of working alone." This is a sentence that Yang Wenkui hangs on his lips, and this year is the fifth year that he has come to work at the 101 small station.

Although the station is small, the work is very busy. The daily stop of the station is 100 cars, up to a maximum of more than 150 cars. Yang Wenkui said that after an inspection, it is necessary to walk back and forth for more than an hour to check whether the bottom of the passenger car stays has fire hazards, idle people staying, and the anti-slip status of the vehicle. And he had to do such inspections every four hours. The chalk marks left on the carriage recorded his every inspection.
