Eason Chan's fans' "forced refund" incident has attracted widespread attention
Recently, Eason Chan's "FEAR and DREAMS" world tour caused an uproar in Guangzhou, and fans have exposed the "forced refund" incident encountered in the ticket purchase process. The concert is scheduled to be held on December 29, 30, 31, 2023 and January 5, 6 and 7, 2024 in Guangzhou.
Fans broke the news on social media, saying that before the performance, they received a refund text message from the ticketing platform, citing "involving the same audience to purchase tickets for the same show repeatedly on multiple ticketing platforms", resulting in the order being forced to be invalidated. Many fans were puzzled by this, as they purchased tickets for different dates of the concert over the six days of the concert, and there was no such thing as buying tickets for the same day at the same time.
One of the fans said that he successfully grabbed the tickets for the 30th and 31st of Guangzhou Station on November 15, but unfortunately, the tickets for the 30th were lost during the delivery of SF Express. After reporting to the platform and the organizer, fans learned that "one ticket and one certificate must be used to enter, and all of them are indispensable", and they cannot enter through the manual channel without their ID cards and order information. What's even more puzzling is that on the evening of the 25th, the fan received a "31st show" refund text message from the platform, and he had not received any communication about the refund before.
This sudden ticket refund incident has caused dissatisfaction and doubts among fans. Some fans said that the air tickets and hotels booked early had to be cancelled because of this, and they felt "double hurt both financially and mentally". In the fan circle, it is not uncommon to check in for every concert, and this forced refund has brought unforeseen trouble to many fans.
Regarding the definition of "same show", fans questioned the vague interpretation of the ticketing platform. Fans pointed out that the ticketing platform did not clearly state on the ticket purchase page that the same audience could not buy concert tickets for different dates in the same city. In response, the customer service of the ticketing platform responded that the regulations for different performances are different, but did not provide a specific explanation.
Prior to this, the issue of concert ticket delivery had also caused dissatisfaction among fans. Some fans said that the performance was about to start, but the paper tickets have not been delivered, and the reply to the platform if there are other ticket collection options is "no". Some fans blamed the chaotic management of the Guangzhou station, and the organizers failed to protect the rights and interests of consumers, which made scalpers frequently profitable.
In this concert ticket turmoil, fans' doubts about the flow of refunds and unexplained tickets have become the focus of attention. It remains to be seen whether this incident will trigger more reflection and attention.
