This morning (28th), the second phase of the Ningbo Zhoushan Port Liuheng Highway Bridge ushered in key progress, and the first main tower cap of the Shuangyumen Bridge was poured, marking the official start of the tower construction of this world-class bridge.

After more than 30 hours of continuous fighting, at 11 o'clock in the morning, the first main tower cap of the Shuangyumen Bridge was successfully poured. The circular cap is 26 meters in diameter and 7 meters high, and the single cap and tower base are poured in three times, with a total design volume of 8,888 cubic meters, which is equivalent to filling nearly six standard swimming pools. In order to ensure the durability of the bridge structure in the highly corrosive marine environment, the reinforcement in the cushion cap and the tower base is also made of epoxy coated steel bar.

As the key control project of the second phase of the Liuheng Highway Bridge in Ningbo Zhoushan Port, the Shuangyu Gate Bridge connects the two independent islands of Liuheng Island and Fodu Island in the south of Zhoushan Islands, with a main span of 1,768 meters, which is the largest span sea-crossing bridge in China and another super project to build the world's business card of the mainland sea-crossing bridge.

Yuan Mingguang, project manager of China Railway Construction Liuheng Bridge Consortium: After the completion of the project, the travel time from Liuheng to Ningbo will be shortened from the original 70 minutes by boat to 10 minutes by car, ending the history of no highway connection between Liuheng, Fodu and Meishan.
