At the same time, the underground party organizations in Lengjiang City are also actively taking action. Fu Pinqian, secretary of the underground party committee, was ostensibly the director of St. John's Hospital, but in fact he undertook the important task of liberating Lengjiang, and he maneuvered between various forces to display wisdom and strategy.
An important plot in the play is that Qiu Ying, the head nurse of the church hospital, has been pretending to be husband and wife with Fu Pinqian for four years to carry out underground work under the cover of her identity. And Zhang Zhijian was resent to Lengjiang to cooperate with Fu Pinqian and his wife. Surprisingly, Zhang Zhijian turned out to be Qiu Ying's real husband, and the couple had not seen each other for four years because of the war and underground work. The climax of the plot of "The Style of the Strong" is during an assassination operation against the Kuomintang general Cai Yinghao. At this critical moment, Fu Pinqian, secretary of the underground party committee, was discovered by Xin Wen, a special agent of the Kuomintang, and thus fell into a great crisis. In order to rescue Fu Pinqian, Qiu Ying did not hesitate to expose her true identity and engaged in a fierce shootout with the spies. Under Qiu Ying's heroic cover, Fu Pinqian was able to escape, but unfortunately, Qiu Ying was shot and killed in the battle.
Although Fu Pinqian was grief-stricken, he still insisted on completing the task. He collaborated with Xing Feiyan, codenamed "Little Bee", to destroy Cai Yinghao's hidden fortress firepower network, creating conditions for the Communist army to capture Lengjiang City. Zhang Zhijian led his troops to attack again, and finally killed Cai Yinghao in a fierce battle, so that Lengjiang City could be liberated. After the battle, Fu Pinqian conveyed Qiu Ying's last words to Zhang Zhijian, telling him that Qiu Ying had always loved him deeply and had never betrayed him. Zhang Zhijian hugged and cried with Fu Pinqian in grief, and the two remembered Qiu Ying's heroic deeds together.
