The Party and Mass Service Center of Zhonghetou Village is a small gray brick and gray tile courtyard, and the office of the first secretary Cheng Xiangbo is in a small bungalow in the corner. Pushing the door in, the weather of minus ten degrees Celsius made the house cold, and when he saw someone visiting, he hurriedly beckoned the reporter to sit down.
The cottage is simply furnished, with a kettle, a small stove, an office computer, and stacks of documents and materials piled high next to the small bed. "At the end of the year, the project has to be stepped up, and everything is piled up here. This grassroots cadre, who was born in 1986, has been stationed in the village for two years.
Zhonghetou Village is the birthplace of the Northwest Township Farmers' Branch of the Communist Party of China, the first rural party branch in Tianjin, and was identified as a demonstration village for rural revitalization in Tianjin in 2021.

"Look at the specialties of our village. Cheng Xiangbo proudly picked up a small pot of succulents on the table and introduced it. In recent years, the village has integrated land resources, successfully transferred a number of idle land, and opened up succulent planting bases, special vegetable planting bases and other planting and breeding projects, with a large number of farmers in the village participating.
"How are they selling this year?" Cheng Xiangbo led the reporter into the greenhouse of succulent grower Fan Kexin.
"Let's make a little 200,000. Leaning out of the dense succulents in the greenhouse, Fan Kexin told reporters with a smile that the village cadres helped build a live broadcast room to open up sales, and their succulents were sold all over the country.

There is a vigorous old locust tree in the village, and the courtyard on the side is the former residence of the martyr An Xingsheng. Relying on the rich red cultural resources in the village, Zhonghetou Village has built a number of red education bases.
With the joint efforts of all the villagers, the reputation of Zhonghetou Village has become more and more resounding. "The recognition of the villagers is the greatest encouragement to us. Cheng Xiangbo said.
"How easy is it to work at the grassroots level?" Cheng Xiangbo sighed, expressing the difficulty on the road to prosperity. In the past, walking after the rain, a foot of cow dung and a foot of mud, several trunk roads in the village were not hardened, and there was a lack of lighting, coupled with the free grazing of the surrounding villagers, which made it extremely inconvenient for pedestrians in the village to open to traffic. If you want to pull the project in, you have to solve the problem of the road first. Some villagers are worried about the damage to their personal interests after the renovation, and some villagers are worried about the project because it involves their own houses, and the work is not going smoothly.
Cheng Xiangbo said that at that time, not long after joining the grassroots work, "I couldn't open my mouth when I saw the villagers." Thinking of himself at that time, Cheng Xiangbo grinned.

Things can't be delayed, and rural revitalization work can't be ambiguous. With the help of other village cadres, Cheng Xiangbo went door-to-door to do work, arriving earlier in the morning than anyone else and sleeping in the office when it was late. He also gradually changed from "Xiao Cheng" in the mouth of the villagers to "Secretary Cheng" recognized by everyone. With trust, many problems are solved.
In the process of promoting the project, there are no professional planning talents in the village, and most of the team members do not understand the knowledge of bidding and engineering construction.
Repeatedly discuss the plan with the higher-level departments, stay up late to make up for relevant knowledge, and ask for advice from other advanced villages...... With the "stunned" of "how can we not do it", the village planned to build a 10-million-level industrial park project for the first time.
Rural revitalization needs to gather advantages to make the cake bigger and better, and Zhonghetou Village and the other five villages in Shuangkou Town have formed a fist.
In May 2022, with the support of the Central Special Lottery Community Chest, the "Red Hetou, Green Shuangkou" construction project was officially launched. The total planned investment is about 120 million yuan, with a total of 19 sub-projects, which involve rural tourism, characteristic planting and breeding, agricultural infrastructure construction and human settlements improvement.
"There is not enough industrial light, it has to be connected. Cheng Xiangbo told reporters that Shuangkou Town has launched cultural and tourism projects such as water treatment science popularization base, succulent planting base, grasshopper breeding base and other cultural and tourism projects around Zhonghetou Village and surrounding villages, combined with the needs of farmers planting and school research, which have been widely praised by tourists.

The forest area of Shuangkou Town is the first in Beichen District, and nearly 3,000 acres of various fruits are planted in the town, and products such as jujube in Xubao Village, dragon fruit in Haobao Village, and grapes in Qianbao Village have become famous.
Up to now, 8 projects, including the training base for primary and secondary schools planned and built in Zhonghetou Village, the restoration of the old site of Tianjin's first rural party branch, and the demonstration base for agricultural fun and leisure experience, have been basically completed or put into use.
"If we want to truly achieve revitalization, we have to take it one step at a time in the future. Cheng Xiangbo believes that the life of Zhonghetou Village will get better and better.
