Tong Xiangling, a famous Peking Opera actor, is the actor of Yang Zirong in the Peking Opera "Outwitting Tiger Mountain". Mr. Tong Xiangling posted on Weibo that in the version of "Outwitting Tiger Mountain" performed by the Shanghai Peking Opera Company, the three words "Chairman Mao" were removed from the line "That is the fierce loyalty to the party and Chairman Mao" that Shao Jianbo said to Yang Zirong in the fourth scene. Mr. Tong Xiangling emphasized that as an actor of the original play, I feel very uncomfortable with the removal of the word "Chairman Mao".
Mr. Tong Xiangling was born in 1935, 21 years older than me, and I interviewed them twice. The old man felt uncomfortable, it is understandable to say this on Weibo, and I even think there is nothing wrong with him saying this. However, some people were not happy, thinking that Mr. Tong was openly calling out the Shanghai Peking Opera Company on the Internet, and that he was an old party member, and that his opinions and different views should be reflected in accordance with the principles of organizational procedures. This man has a tough attitude.
Mr. Tong said: "First of all, let me tell you clearly, I am an ordinary actor, and I am still an unclimbable distance from the requirement of being a Communist Party member, but this does not affect my love for Chairman Mao in the slightest." Do you think the removal of the word "Chairman Mao" is a call for criticism? Can you tell me what the removal of the word "Chairman Mao" means?"
In fact, what Mr. Tong meant was that there was no need to talk about this matter from the perspective of who was arguing with whom. Lao Hu has repeatedly warned us to reduce antagonism, to be tolerant and understanding, and I think this matter can at least be communicated.
Tong Xiangling and their old couple have performed Peking Opera all their lives, and among the actors who played the movie version of the modern Peking Opera "Outwitting Tiger Mountain", only "Yang Zirong" is still alive and still in China, that is, Tong Xiangling is alone.
In the minds of our generation, Yang Zirong is Tong Xiangling, and Tong Xiangling is Yang Zirong. Tong Xiangling's wife Zhang Nanyun is also a Peking Opera actor and a disciple of Mei Lanfang.
Mr. Tong Xiangling not only played "Outwitting Tiger Mountain" and got the highest popularity, but also has many plays he is good at, such as "Dragon and Phoenix Chengxiang", "Mulberry Garden Club", "Heroes Meeting", "Lost Space Chop", especially "Dingjun Mountain", "Shilang Visits Mother" and "Battle Taiping", these are all widely influential, but none of the dramas have a greater impact than "Outwitting Tiger Mountain".
Tong Xiangling's singing, reading, doing, and playing in the game "Fighting the Tiger on the Mountain" are both civil and military, especially his singing and doing are all at the ceiling level. Otherwise, the revolutionary modern Peking Opera would not have chosen him at that time, he was a scholar of the Yu (Shuyan) school, and later integrated into the Qi (Zhou Xinfang) school and the Ma (Lianliang) school, and the performance method absorbed the strengths of each family, and the singing was full of charm, meticulous workmanship, and the performance was free and easy, especially good at portraying characters.
The character of Yang Zirong is vividly portrayed by Mr. Tong Xiangling. He played "Lu Su" in "Heroes", "Kong Ming" in the middle, and "Guan Yu" in the back. In "Dragon and Phoenix Chengxiang", he played "Qiao Xuan" in the front and "Lu Su" in the back, and different characters have their own characteristics.
Now some actors play everyone the same way, and they all have the same taste. After playing the emperor, it was all the emperor's posture after that. Mr. Tong Xiangling is playing who is like whom, who is playing, this is a big actor.
The play "Outwitting Tiger Mountain", like many model operas at that time, was an insurmountable cultural peak in the minds of that generation of Peking Opera people.
To this day, there is no play on our Peking Opera stage that can be compared with the revolutionary modern Peking Opera of that year.
In 1967, Chairman Mao personally revised "Outwitting Tiger Mountain". So now remove the three words "Chairman Mao", maybe the person who has the right to decide this matter will do it with a pat on the head and an idea. Or maybe there's a complicated background here, and we don't dare to say it, and we don't know.
In addition, when I interviewed Mr. Tong, he specifically talked about the two of them opening a restaurant. It was understandable at that time, and now it can also be understood from the perspective that everyone respects, that is, private entrepreneurs.
The problems of today's private enterprises are particularly complex, and I have done a few episodes of programs to talk about some theoretical problems of private enterprises, but I didn't think that anyone would even be willing to listen to this theoretical problem.
There's a line called "The past, don't mention him". On the 130th anniversary of Chairman Mao's birth, this matter still needs to be mentioned. To commemorate the 130th anniversary of Chairman Mao's birth, the central government has a standard answer, and we must all unify our understanding with the spirit and standards of the central government, which is called the consciousness of alignment, the awareness of the overall situation, and the political consciousness.
