Recently, the GenG club has caused a lot of turmoil due to an operational accident. On social media, GenG posted a post referring to Taiwan as a country, followed by an apology statement after 13 hours.
The initial apology statement was bilingual in Chinese and Korean, expressing firm support for the basic principle of one China.
However, this statement was considered too weak by some fans of the Korean Open, which caused a series of controversies. As a result, GenG deleted the apology statement from the extranet and issued a new statement, emphasizing its "neutral" position and saying that it would respect the status quo and differential treatment of each region in its future operations.
However, this repeated practice once again angered some fans, and many Korean netizens accused GenG of being two-faced and dishonest.
Some fans even sent wreaths to the GenG club's Korean headquarters. At the same time, the official GenG blog also deleted or hid the apology statement.
It is reported that Guan Zeyuan, who is currently one of the biggest GenG fans in LPL, has taken down the club. The current GenG can be described as a domestic and foreign dilemma, which has offended not only LPL fans, but also Taiwanese and South Korean fans.
