Sometimes, the story of a home is hidden in the color of the walls and the flow of space. Just like this couple who once lived abroad, with a yearning for American style, they hope that every day they return to their hometown, they can feel the simplicity and cleanliness of life in a comfortable and spacious environment.
However, reality is often a bit far from dreams. Their new home, a longer space with a door that happens to be in the center, divides the living area in two. How do you create a home that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional at this unfavorable starting point?
First of all, they decided to redivide the space with the entrance hallway as the axis. All design decisions revolve around how to make the space "moving" and "quiet" coexist reasonably. The movement and stillness are distinct, which is the soul of this home.
As a result, the areas of public activity – those used for eating, drinking, having fun, and enjoying the audiovisual – were deliberately placed in the left half. On the right half, the quiet and private bedroom, bathroom, and dressing room are quietly hidden behind the sofa. Imagine opening the door and seeing what?
A low TV wall cleverly separates the living room from the dining and kitchen area, but retains visual coherence. On the back, it is transformed into a storage cabinet for the kitchen, which is discreet and practical. There is a fireplace on the left wall of the living room, and the American atmosphere quietly spreads from here.
The sofa carefully selected by the designer, the design without armrests, and the low posture make the whole living room look more spacious and open. Inadvertently, the line of sight can be seen through the floor-to-ceiling windows and extend to the greenery outside.
You can't help but go inside, and the display case behind the sofa is both a storage place and a clever way to hide the passage to the intimate space. The staggered lattice cabinets are both decoration and entrance, so designed to ensure tidiness and add a touch of fun to explore.
The design of the kitchen area shows another thought of the designer. In this open space, the restaurant is housed at the rear of Nakajima, which is slightly private. Here, dining is no longer a simple eating process, but an experience that combines movement and stillness.
The restaurant's arch shape, accentuated by a coffee-colored wooden frame, makes every entry feel like a small ceremony. The daylight orange on the wall and the white chandelier create a warm atmosphere for both the first rays of sunlight in the morning and the soft lights of the night.
The multi-purpose room, which is adjacent to the restaurant, originally occupied a lot of space, but the designer cleverly reduced it and flattened the lines of the space. The circulation of the public domain is smoother. Here, it is not only a world for the male owner to exercise, but also a place for him to guide students.
The cool gray blue of the walls and the simple and square door frame are in stark contrast to the warm orange of the restaurant, as if telling the different preferences and personalities of the male and female hosts. The bathroom and privacy cubicle curtains meet the needs of students after exercise. Of course, we can't forget the master bedroom.
Here, the designer brings a touch of feminine warm orange, simple and sophisticated. The dark blue flannel headboard, decorated with gold borders, exudes elegance and quality in every detail. The end of this story is hidden in the design details of the bathroom. How do you find a balance between functionality and aesthetics?
The designer's answer is to work on the details, so that every moment of use becomes a part of enjoying life. From a long house to a home full of American style, the designer's careful layout and ingenious design have successfully rejuvenated this space. How do you make it happen?
It's a secret for designers and a dream that homeowners enjoy every day. Here, life is not just life, but an art. Imagine returning home after a tiring day at work, opening the bedroom door and revealing a spacious, bright, private space.
Between the master bedroom and the bathroom, it is not an airtight wall, but a graceful and luxurious marble wall, which not only divides the space, but also cleverly maintains a sense of transparency, it is not only a wall, it is a work of art, but also the embodiment of life aesthetics.
In terms of design, we abandoned the traditional fully enclosed design, and instead chose a bold and delicate semi-open layout, defined by this marble wall, as if to tell us that privacy and openness can coexist in such harmony.
The smooth and tense texture of marble, as if quietly telling the story of the earth for hundreds of millions of years, exudes a noble atmosphere that immediately enhances the style of the whole bedroom. However, the allure of design is not limited to the visuals.
The wall deliberately retains the left and right entrances, forming a very practical "hollow" circulation line, so that you can easily enter the bathroom from either side of the bedroom, whether you are in a hurry to get up in the morning or take a slow bath in the evening, this design makes life more smooth and easy.
But don't forget, the beveled design underneath.
Generally speaking, people often don't pay enough attention to the design of the floor, but here, the carefully cut bevel under the marble wall connects the slightly raised bathroom floor, which not only gives more fluidity to the space, but also makes the whole bathroom area more designed, highlighting the owner's unique taste.
Walking into the bathroom area, you will find that every part of the room has been carefully planned, and the toilets, dressing tables and shower spaces are connected in a way that is both independent and harmonious. Such a layout not only meets the needs of functionality, but also makes bathroom time a kind of enjoyment.
Whether you're grabbing a toothbrush in a hurry or stretching out in the shower, every movement feels as natural as a cloud. We often say that home is the warmest harbor, and in such a design and comfortable environment, every minute and second of life becomes more worth looking forward to.
Imagine the morning sun shining through the cracks in the curtains, dappled on this marble wall, you take care of yourself in front of the dressing table, and feel the beauty of life every time you look in the mirror. At night, when the light is soft, you are immersed in the comfort of bathing, and that calmness and leisureliness is the best healing for a busy life.
Such a design may seem simple, but it actually contains a deep meaning of life philosophy. It is not only the division of space, but also the embodiment of a life attitude, which makes us understand that life can be more stylish and quality.
This marble wall, like a silent guardian, guards our intimate moments, but also witnesses every sublimation of our lives. The semi-open design of the master bedroom and bathroom is not only a redefinition of living space, but also a lifestyle innovation.
When such a design is closely connected with our lives, we can't help but think that the original appearance of home can be so colorful. And we can also find our true selves in such an environment and enjoy every breath of life.
Saying goodbye to traditional bedroom design, we ushered in a new era of privacy and openness. In this era, marble is not only a building material, it is art, it is an emotion, and it is the teller of life. And we, too, have a long dialogue with our families and ourselves in this dialogue.
