Yang Chen: I have a question for Mr. Sima Nan, Chairman Mao has been away from us for 47 years, why do the Chinese still miss this great man so much?
Sima Nan: I think the people's nostalgia for Chairman Mao is, first of all, because Chairman Mao represents fairness and justice. Secondly, Chairman Mao has made many great achievements, and he has conscientiously practiced the words "serving the people" throughout his life. Chairman Mao's life was a great life dedicated to the Chinese revolution. Chairman Mao's family, including his son, also dedicated their lives to the revolution, and when he died, he did not leave much property to his children, according to the most simple thinking of the Chinese people, that is, Chairman Mao worried about the Chinese people all his life.
In the turbulent social environment of those years, China was poor and weak, and it can be said that the situation has reached the bottom, and Chairman Mao has found a way to save the country and the people, which is visible to the people.
I was born in 1956, when Chairman Mao was still alive, and I knew very well his great achievements, his voice and smile. After we had the ability to read, we read a lot of Chairman Mao's books, and the education we received made it impossible for us not to miss Chairman Mao. Not only the Chinese people, but also the people with brains and rational thinking in the world also recognize Chairman Mao's important position as a great man in the world, so we miss Chairman Mao.
In terms of fundamental interests, there is a sentence in the "Complete Works of Marx and Engels" that says, "Once an ideology is separated from interests, it will certainly make a fool of itself." ”
Then let's talk about interests, Chairman Mao represents the interests of the broadest, the majority of the people. I once went to Tibet and hung pictures of Chairman Mao in the homes of the poorest herdsmen. In their eyes, Chairman Mao is the Guanyin Bodhisattva who saves suffering.
I have a friend, Liang Xiaosheng, who writes about intellectuals, and he asked why taxi drivers hung pictures of Chairman Mao on their cars. The taxi driver gave him a big explanation. The reason is the same as what I just said, the common people have rods and scales in their hearts, and their judgment of right and wrong is not bad at all. Ordinary people are just not good at using theoretical articles to summarize into a big truth. However, the people's understanding of these issues is based on their own actual and vital interests, and it is also the way of the people of the world for thousands of years, and the conscience of heaven and earth must be just. If the Chinese revolution had not adopted Chairman Mao's tactics and methods, the revolution would have been unsustainable a long time ago.
A general once said, "None of us are fuel-efficient lamps, so why do we all obey Lao Mao?" It is because he always finds the most correct path at the most important juncture. At that time, if there was no base area laid by Chairman Mao, what would the rest of the people do? At that time, Zhu De's repeated uprisings failed one after another, and he led the rest of the troops to Jinggangshan. Zhu De's team is far stronger than Chairman Mao's, but if there is no base of Chairman Mao, where can the rest of the people go?
Zhu De's team was strong and strong compared to the team in Jinggangshan, but it was still very weak compared to the forces of the Kuomintang reactionaries.
Someone told me before that when Chairman Mao went to Jinggang Mountain, many poor people pulled poles up the mountain, and "Water Margin" has been like this since ancient times. Chairman Mao did not allow women to be robbed, and he was not allowed to rob houses and houses, so how could the contingent survive? In the past, all the people who went up the mountain became bandits, but how did the contingent led by Chairman Mao become a workers' and peasants' Red Army with strict discipline?
I think this question is particularly good. In fact, he continued, this is the most remarkable part of the resolution of the Gutian Conference. The great thing lies in the principle of unanimity between officers and soldiers, the unity of the army and the people, and the unity of the military and the government; great lies in the great initiative of "building the branch on the company"; great lies in the vanguard and exemplary role of party members; and great lies in the equality between people and people. The commander is the commander, the commander is the commander, and the commander and the combatant are all members of us.

Sima Nan: Yes, the people's nature of our army.
Ask the prisoners who have been captured if they are willing to be soldiers? If they are willing to be soldiers, they will stay, and if they are not willing to be soldiers, they will be given a dollar and leave. They are willing to stay. Why did you stay? There is a class consciousness. The squad leader got up at night to cover the soldiers with quilts, but the little soldiers could not carry their guns and could not walk, so the platoon commander and company commander gave up their horses to the little soldiers to ride. Humanity has been revived, humanity has been sublimated, and this organized team of the poor is exceptionally combative. On the other hand, the Kuomintang forces were on the verge of collapse, and the warlords' forces were scattered.
At that time, the Red Army was brave and tenacious, and the courage to kill the enemy without fear of death. Chairman Mao is really like a god in the use of soldiers, he is not only very powerful in military skills and tactics, but more importantly, he cares for everyone equally.
Not long ago, there was a speech that was very influential, and it was Chairman Mao's original words: The Chinese people "cannot be provoked" and "if they are provoked, it will be difficult to deal with." The Chinese Communist Party has organized the Chinese people. What kind of organization was used? It was organized with Mao Zedong Thought and Chairman Mao's strategy and tactics to organize the people.
This year commemorates the 130th anniversary of Chairman Mao's birth, Qiushi magazine makes a very important point: Mao Zedong Thought is the living soul, and Mao Zedong's policies, strategies, methods, and principles are eternal and common language within the party.
I think it is particularly good to say that the common people cherish the memory of Chairman Mao because the contingent led by Chairman Mao has grown from weak to strong and from defeat to victory. Today, we need Mao Zedong Thought even more, and Mao Zedong Thought is not a dispensable issue. If we don't adhere to its universal principles, we can still fail. Only by adhering to his ideas can the people be organized. In the past, we sang a song: we are united and fraternal, strong as steel...... The five-star red flag fluttered in the wind, and the song of victory was so loud that our dear motherland would march toward prosperity and strength from now on.
According to Chairman Mao's sayings, the people should be united and loving. Because there is love in unity, there is more power in organization. The organization is not simply arranged, but the hearts are together. If the hearts are not together, the common strength will be greatly reduced.
Only talk about a lot of truths, and you can't get into your ears and minds. These truths are too much, too big, space. The truth in the world is actually not that complicated, but I am afraid that we will see some big truths going around.
For example, the Party Central Committee regards Zhejiang as a pilot province for common prosperity. Common prosperity is the moral ideal of the communists, and it is also a realistic policy. Common prosperity should come gradually, and it is not about killing the rich and helping the poor. However, some people can't listen to common prosperity, and when you talk about common prosperity, they will say that they will kill the rich and help the poor, if you talk about common prosperity, they will say populism, and if you talk about common prosperity, they will say "ultra-left".
If we don't talk about common prosperity, then how can we still call it the Communist Party? If we don't talk about common prosperity, how can we mobilize people's enthusiasm together? The minds of the common people are quite clear, and the people's nostalgia for Chairman Mao is the nostalgia for the humanistic and moral ideals, the nostalgia for "sheltering the poor people in the world," and the nostalgia for China with a lofty sense of purpose.
When Chairman Mao talked about China's future, his vision was that after about 100 years, we will build a strong socialist country.
How was the socialist power at that time?
Chairman Mao said that when we build a strong socialist country, we will be a powerful country that makes people feel amiable.
Recently a young man asked me to recommend three books. I told him that it would be good to read Chairman Mao's book. If you haven't read Chairman Mao's book, how do you understand Chinese society? How do you understand the Communist Party of China? How do you understand why we want to build such a country, and what kind of place will our country go in the future?
Therefore, I think today's young people should read more books by Chairman Mao in order to understand what kind of country China was in the past and what kind of place it will go in the future.
Yang Chen: This is the precious spiritual wealth left to us by Chairman Mao, which must be inherited and carried forward.
