On December 19, German flag carrier Lufthansa Group announced that it had placed orders with Boeing and Airbus for a total of up to 200 aircraft. Among them, Boeing is "40+60", and 60 Boeing 737 MAX 8 are ordered, and another 60 may be added in the future. Airbus is "60+40" and has ordered 60 A220-200s for Lufthansa City Airlines, with 20 more possible in the future. Lufthansa has also ordered 40 Airbus A320 family aircraft.
