Sima Yao, emperor of the Jin Dynasty, was the ninth emperor of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the fifth grandson of Sima Yi, the sixth son of Emperor Jianwen Sima Yu, and his mother was Empress Xiaowuwen Li Lingrong. Sima Yao was one of the less famous ancient emperors in our country, but in his short 35 years of life there are two stories worth talking about as after-dinner gossip.

The first story: Sima Yao's birth mother was actually "Kunlun Nu", who was never favored, because of his appearance, he was able to give birth to a child. The so-called "Kunlun Nu" refers to the black slaves who were trafficked to the Central Plains from the area around present-day Southeast Asia, and when Sima Yu was still the prince, there was a tall, dark-skinned Kunlun slave girl in the palace, named Li Lingrong. Whether ancient or modern, appearance is an important factor that determines people's fate, and Li Lingrong, who is ugly in appearance and clumsy in shape, can only do some miscellaneous work in the textile workshop, and basically has no connection with Sima Yu.
In the first year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (362), Sima Yu's sons died prematurely, and at the age of 42, he did not yet have a son who could inherit the position, and he was so anxious that he could only find superstition, so he ordered someone to find a jianghu warlock to show the marriageable women in the palace, hoping to find a woman who could give birth to a healthy son for him. To everyone's surprise, the jianghu warlock looked at the women for a long time, and finally assigned him Li Lingrong.
Sima Yu was astonished, and repeatedly questioned the result, the warlock was helpless, and said that he had been hanging the pot for a long time, and had read countless people, if he trusted him, the Wang family would have descendants, if he did not believe him, what would he do? Sima Yu listened, although he was still half-convinced, but still decided to try it, so he turned over Li Lingrong's sign that night. The warlock was right, Li Lingrong was confirmed soon after, she gave birth to two sons and a daughter for Sima Yu, and by virtue of the health of the eldest son Sima Yao, she became the first and only black empress in the history of our country.
When Sima Yao was born, it was at the time of dawn, and Sima Yu was overjoyed and set the name of the child - "Changming". Sima Yu was also a very sad father, naming the child "Changming", but immediately regretted it because the immortals told him that "Jin Zuo stops Changming". In July of the second year of Xian'an (372), Sima Yu died, and the 11-year-old crown prince Sima Yao was put on the throne. The crown prince was young, and Sima Huanwen attempted to usurp the throne, but fortunately, with the presence of loyal subjects such as Xie An and Wang Tanzhi, the prophecies that Emperor Xiandi had dreamed of did not happen ahead of schedule.
In the first year of Ning kang (373), Huan Wen died, and the real power in the dprk was controlled by the Chen County Xie clan represented by Xie An, but Xie An was a good official, and with his assistance, the Eastern Jin Dynasty defeated the Former Qin army and won the Victory at the Battle of Shuishui, while Xie An also recovered a large area of its homeland in the north, laying the foundation for the later political stability of the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the formation of the Zhongxing weather.
Story 2: Sima Yao drunkenly talked nonsense, angered the jealous concubine, and finally was suffocated on the bed by the concubine with a quilt. Sima Yao was not a good and enterprising emperor, and after the country was stable, he expelled Xie An from the imperial court, not only that, in order to be able to drink and enjoy himself, he even boldly delegated power to his brother Sima Daozi.
Sima Yao himself was drunk as he was destined to die, and he still liked that someone could accompany him to drink, so his harem was full of drunken women. It is said that his empress Wang Fahui accompanied him to drink heavily, and eventually fell ill due to excessive drinking, and finally died at the age of 21. The old man died of drinking, but Sima Yao still did not feel wrong, and continued to drink heavily with the new man Zhang Guiren in his arms.
Drinking alcohol is bold, not only the courage to tell the truth, but also the courage to speak gibberish. On September 20, 396, sima Yao went to Zhang Guiren's palace to drink as usual, perhaps hearing the news that Zhang Guiren had oppressed other concubines in the harem through pampering, and he first stared at Zhang Guiren's face drunkenly, and then he smirked. Zhang Guiren was so hairy at the sight of him that he urged him to ask him what was wrong.
Alcohol played a role, Sima Yao didn't even think about it, so he pointed to Zhang Guiren's face and said, "You old woman, obviously not as good looking as before, has not yet given birth to a son for me, why are you still in the palace?" Zhang Guiren was embarrassed though. But thinking that Sima Yao was now just an untrustworthy drunkard, he did not think so with a perfunctory smile. Sima Yao said, "I want to destroy you and find other young and beautiful women to accompany me." And the more he said it, the more he went too far, and the more he poked his heart, he finally broke out Zhang Guiren.'
Zhang Guiren was furious and attacked his heart, and he finally made an irrational decision, that is, to kill jun! She first kept pouring wine on Sima Yao until he was unconscious, then used the meter to cut off the emperor's personal attendants, and finally ordered her palace daughter to wrap Sima Yao in a thick quilt and suffocate him directly in the quilt. Killing The King was a capital offense, and Zhang Guiren spent the night with the corpse in order to hide his eyes and ears, and the next day he announced to the outside world that Emperor Xiaowu had collapsed in his sleep.
This tragic emperor, who died tragically, was in his prime at the age of 35, and died of a woman's jealousy due to a drunken gaffe.
