Recently, the students of Jiulong Model High School, who participated in the 2023 Flash Forum and Cultural Mobile Classroom, "Bright Suzhou River - Shanghai Version of the Qingming Riverside Map" activity, experienced the history, business, and cultural changes of Suzhou Creek through a cultural mobile classroom with the theme of history and humanities, architectural aesthetics, and urban changes, and relived its eventful time.
Suzhou Creek is known as the mother river of Shanghai. It gave birth to the early prosperity of Shanghai and witnessed the historical changes of Shanghai. Yin Rong, an international art curator, critic, calligrapher and painter, started from the perspective of "Famous River", and launched the first lecture of "Flash Forum" for young students with the title of "Brilliant Su River - Shanghai Version of Qingming Riverside Picture".
He took the "Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival" painted by the Northern Song Dynasty painter Zhang Zeduan as an example to explain the blood connection between Kaifeng, the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty, and the Bianhe River, and told the past and present life of Shanghai and Suzhou Creek, London and the Thames, Paris and the Seine, Prague and the Vltava River.
Under the guidance and explanation of Zhu Gang, a senior media person and a researcher of Shanghai history enthusiasts, the young students set off from the Sixing Warehouse and walked all the way along the Suzhou Creek to the Vientiane World in Suhe Bay, which became a mobile cultural classroom.
Sixing Warehouse is famous for the Songhu Anti-Japanese War in 1937, and the "Eight Hundred Heroes" and the Japanese army started the "Sixing Warehouse Defense Battle" here. Gazing at the bullet holes on the west wall of the warehouse, Zhu Gang's explanation made the students feel as if they had returned to that historical scene that was full of flames, and inspired the patriotism of young people.
Suzhou Creek, formerly known as Wusong River. Historically, the Wusong River was the largest river on the south bank of the Yangtze River estuary, and was not only an important drainage channel for Taihu Lake, but also a major commercial and transportation route at that time. Along the way, Mr. Zhu's humorous explanation made the students feel the great charm of Shanghai-style culture and the profound heritage of Jiangnan culture, and also ignited a strong interest in exploring Suzhou Creek.
Walking along the Suzhou Creek, the students also visited the two outstanding historical buildings "Tianhou Temple" and "Shenyuli", which are located in the Vientiane World of Suhe Bay. Here, students can experience the inclusiveness and weather of a world-class city living room.
In November 2023, with the strong support of Fudan MBA Class 22 Class 10, Jiulong Model High School set up the Flash Scholarship and launched the Flash Forum project, and jointly signed a cultural mobile classroom cooperation agreement at the first forum to form the Flash Forum Alliance. The Cultural Mobile Classroom is an innovative public welfare project launched by Effie Ric, and Jiulong Model Middle School is the first batch of pilot schools. It is understood that in the future, the cultural mobile classroom will unite more social resources, especially excellent social organizations, integrate multiple perspectives such as the red spirit, urban changes, history and humanities, and the trajectory of great people, create an experiential and interactive immersive environment, and open up the "last meter" of publicity, education and guidance for young people.
