Europe and the United States are playing ball, Zelensky is cornered, and the G7 has begun to play the idea of Russian assets

Europe and the United States didn't want to give money to aid Ukraine during this time, so they kept "kicking the ball", Zelensky was also cornered, but the G7 began to play the idea of Russian assets.

Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, it has lasted almost two years, and as the front continues to lengthen, Western countries are also showing fatigue in aiding Ukraine. During this time, Europe and the United States have begun to "kick the ball" in aid to Ukraine. The European Union subsequently made the same decision after the U.S. Congress vetoed more than $11 billion worth of aid to Ukraine.

Seeing this, Zelensky was also anxious like an ant on a hot pot, and began to run around Europe and the United States. Recently, Zelensky went to the United States again, and in order to lobby the United States to continue to assist Ukraine, he met with Biden, Harris and many high-level members of Congress from both parties in the United States within one day.

However, Zelensky's move did not play any role. This time, not only the US congressmen rejected him, but even Biden, who had been insisting on supporting Ukraine, also changed his tone. Biden said in front of Zelensky that the United States can only support Ukraine one day at a time.

After all, with the passage of time, the opposition within the United States to the endless aid to Ukraine will inevitably become louder and louder. In addition, the United States still needs to provide Israel with weapons and ammunition due to the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. In this case, the United States is bound to make a trade-off.

In addition, there is not much time left before the US election, the Republican Party has been singing the opposite tone on the issue of aiding Ukraine, and the pressure on the Biden administration will only increase. Therefore, the United States will now slow down its aid to Ukraine, both economically and politically.

And after the United States slowed down on this matter, Western countries were even more inadequate. But Zelensky has no other way but to seek help from Western countries. Therefore, after his visit to the United States was fruitless, Zelensky immediately left for Norway. But this trip to Norway allowed Zelensky to get a commitment from the five Nordic countries to continue to aid Ukraine.

The main reason why the Nordic countries are still interested in aiding Ukraine is that they have benefited a lot from the Russia-Ukraine conflict. It is reported that during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Norway's revenue from both oil and gas hit a record high. So, the Nordic countries are seeing that there is still profit to be made in this matter.

But promises are promises, and everything is empty talk until funds and weapons are in hand. What's more, 4 of the 5 Nordic countries are NATO members, and their attitude towards the Russia-Ukraine conflict still depends to a large extent on the United States. Once the United States and most European countries have taken over, the Nordic countries are unlikely to remain unwavering.

On top of that, Ukraine is currently working hard to join the European Union. You must know that if Ukraine can join the EU as soon as possible, Ukraine will be able to get 50 billion euros in economic aid from the EU, which will also provide Ukraine with some confidence and motivation to continue to fight against Russia.

However, there is a huge disagreement within the EU on this matter. Hungary, Austria and Slovakia are all opposed to Ukraine's accession to the European Union, with Hungary in particular being the most resolute. To this end, Zelensky also attended the inauguration ceremony of the new Argentine President Milley and had a brief conversation with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

But Orban did not give Zelensky much of a good look. On the one hand, EU countries are also worried about the economic and political pressure brought about by continued aid to Ukraine; on the other hand, Serbia and other countries have already submitted applications for EU membership, and it is obviously unreasonable to directly open a "back door" to Ukraine if these countries are crossed.

Therefore, the current situation in Ukraine is quite bad, and once Europe and the United States cut off aid, Zelensky will also be cornered. This is not far from that situation now. It is worth mentioning that at this juncture, G7 came up with another trick. In the past few days, the G7 countries are considering using Russian assets to aid Ukraine.

As early as the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, European and American countries froze about $300 billion in assets of the Central Bank of Russia, and now they are eyeing this asset after Europe and the United States do not want to continue to aid Ukraine. According to a U.S. official, the U.S. is currently engaged in active dialogue with the G7 countries on this matter.

However, the G7 is full of concerns about this matter, and countries such as Germany and France oppose this matter, because this move will damage the credibility of Europe and the United States in the international community, which will lead to the flight of foreign capital. European countries are more inclined to use the profits generated by this asset to aid Ukraine. However, Britain has maintained a highly consistent attitude with the United States on this matter.

It can be seen that the current European and American countries have lost momentum in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, which means that the situation between Russia and Ukraine will soon usher in a turning point, but how Zelensky will end up will be a difficult problem.
