In August this year, the Food and Drug Environmental Investigation Corps of the Municipal Bureau found through online inspections that some people sold handbags, packaging boxes, anti-counterfeiting cards and other packaging materials of well-known brand liquor through online platforms, which attracted the attention of the police. The police traced the line and found that these packaging materials were counterfeit, and the main flow was to Gu, a buyer located in the city.

Through investigation, the police found that Gu rented a storefront room in the suburbs of the city for hoarding purchased counterfeit brand liquor packaging materials, and a large number of empty bottles of high-end liquor were often piled up in the house, which was very suspicious. Every late at night, Gu would load the empty bottles and packaging materials in the house and transfer them to a commercial office building a few kilometers away, until the early hours of the morning, and then load out boxes of liquor and drive away.

The police judged that there may be illegal and criminal situations of processing and producing counterfeit brand liquor behind it. Following this line of tracing, the police found out that the boxes of liquor shipped by Gu were eventually sold to distributors Wu and others, and Wu and others purchased fake liquor from five other criminal gangs led by Ran and others in many provinces and cities across the country at the same time.

From December 5 to December 10 this year, under the command and deployment of the Ministry of Public Security and with the vigorous cooperation of the public security organs of relevant provinces and cities, the Shanghai police carried out waves of net collection operations, and wiped out six criminal gangs, including Gu's gang.

At the scene of the action, the office room of more than ten square meters of the business building was filled with a strong smell of alcohol, a large number of unpackaged counterfeit brand liquor packaging materials were scattered on the ground, dozens of empty liquor bottles were placed in the corner of the room, and several bottles of half-filled and unlabeled bulk liquor were placed on a flat table, as well as a number of counterfeiting equipment such as funnels, electronic scales, and capping machines. After identification, the finished liquor seized at the scene was all counterfeit brand products.

It has been ascertained that since May this year, six criminal gangs headed by criminal suspect Gu and others have rented a number of private houses, storefront rooms, and offices in commercial buildings as places for the production and sale of fake liquor dimples, purchased a large number of counterfeit brand liquor packaging materials at low prices from the Internet, and purchased empty bottles of well-known brand liquor from some restaurants, restaurants, and tobacco hotels at high prices. Subsequently, Gu and others instructed the gang members to use low-grade liquor and bulk liquor as raw materials, use funnels, infusion machines and other tools to fill them into empty bottles of genuine liquor they purchased, then process, package and package the finished products, and finally hand them over to Wu and other distributors, at prices ranging from 50 yuan to 100 yuan below the market price, through social software advertisements and other means, falsely claiming that genuine products are sold to many provinces and cities across the country.

Further investigation is ongoing. In the next step, the Shanghai police will dig deep and crack down on the criminal gangs that provide counterfeit packaging materials upstream.
