Enclave, not that he can really fly, but a rather special geographical phenomenon, refers to the land that originally belonged to its own jurisdiction but did not border the region. If you want to arrive, you can only "fly" past other administrative entities before you can come to your own land, so it is named "enclave".
What is surprising is that China really has such an "enclave" in the UK, and the history is as long as 140 years.
In 140 years, a rod was stabbed to the late Qing Dynasty.
It was a nightmare for the Chinese nation, but at that time, the emperors of the late Qing Dynasty were still leaning on the dragon chair and still dreaming of the heavenly kingdom, covering their eyes and turning a blind eye to the rise of the West.
The European countries led by the United Kingdom, which had just experienced the industrial revolution, in order to dump their rich goods, set their sights on the 5,000-year-old country in the East, setting off two opium wars, and China entered a humiliating modern history.
The rise and fall of the world is the responsibility of the husband. As a result, some people with lofty ideals realized the importance of "opening their eyes to the world", actively learned advanced knowledge from the West, and introduced foreign equipment, such as naval warships, and the origin of the story took place here.
In 1879, the Qing government ordered two ramming cruisers Yangwei and Chaoyong from the British, and at that time, it did not pay attention to door-to-door delivery, and the Qing government had to send people across the ocean to receive them, and by the way, they learned technology in Britain.
But thousands of miles away, in the long distance and bumpiness, two officers and soldiers of the Navy Division, Yuan Peifu and Gu Shizhong, unfortunately died in a foreign land.
Since there was no technology to preserve the remains at that time, it was impossible to return to the roots, so the Qing government had to buy a piece of land in St. John's Cemetery in Newcastle, England, and bury the two officers and soldiers of the Sailor Division who unfortunately died of illness.
After that, this cemetery received many ancestors who died in a foreign country and struggled for the strength of the country and the prosperity of the people all their lives, and many officers and soldiers of the Beiyang Naval Division who went overseas to study were buried here.
In 1911, on the eve of the Xinhai Revolution, when Cheng Biguang, a naval admiral of the Qing government, led the ship "Haiqi" to attend the coronation ceremony of King George V, he also came to Newcastle to pay tribute to the five people and rebuilt the tombstone for them. The tombstone bears the words "Great Qing Dynasty Bravery".
After that, China became more turbulent and the times changed rapidly, but Chinese never forgot that there were lonely loyalists overseas, and in the 21st century, three local tombstones had collapsed, and the Chinese side urgently sent people to repair them.
In this renovation, the Chinese and British once again made it clear that the area did indeed belong to China: the Qing Dynasty government purchased it through the British embassy, about 180 square feet (about 16.7 square meters), and spent a total of 15 pounds at the time, counting from 1881, and it has been 142 years since then, and the property is still owned by China.
The Chinese sighed in front of the tombstones of the martyrs: A hundred years ago, we were broken and endured humiliation. A hundred years later, we have raised our eyebrows and raised our eyebrows! I would like to comfort the heroic souls with this, and hope that the people of the country will not forget history and move forward bravely from generation to generation!
