In the keynote speech on the second day of the 2023 Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit, Honor, as a Qualcomm partner, announced the scale data of its end-side large model of 7 billion on the spot.
Honor CEO Zhao Ming said in his speech that the future AI must include a hybrid experience of cloud and terminal, and both have their own focus on division of labor. Endpoints focus on privacy and personal data, and clouds focus on high-performance computing.
Honor introduced its hybrid AI technology for device-cloud cooperation at the scene, and at present, Honor's personal end-side AI has been able to achieve 2-10 billion use cases, while the larger target of 10-100 billion use cases is handed over to the cloud to complete.
At the scene, Honor also showed the practical application scenarios of its 7 billion end-side large model, and automatically generated a video through AI and the materials in the album.
Qualcomm released this year's new generation of flagship mobile SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen3 on the first day of the summit, this chip this year emphasized AI processing capabilities, it is reported that this generation of mobile processors will support up to 10 billion device-side large models offline operation.
At present, the model scale below 10 billion is relatively more friendly to terminals such as smartphones, and can achieve a better balance between computing power, mobile phone memory and mobile phone battery life. In the two-day speech of the Snapdragon Summit, Xiaomi and Honor both announced the scale of their own end-side large models, of which Xiaomi achieved a scale of 6 billion, and Honor achieved a scale of 7 billion, which is also determined on the basis of balancing the user experience of mobile phones.
At the scene, Tencent Technology also interviewed Zhao Ming, and when asked what changes the end-side AI will have for the future mobile phone experience, Zhao Ming said that the AI model in the cloud is large-scale and will be more suitable for solving some knowledge problems, and this ability is not differentiated for all users. The large model on the end side does not require networking, which can ensure the security of user privacy data to the greatest extent, and at the same time, through the ability of AI, it can realize the model establishment of different user habits, which is unique.
In the speech, Zhao Ming also revealed that the Maigc 6, the first mobile phone equipped with its large model on the end side, will use the platform of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3. For Qualcomm's new X Elite computer processor, Honor will also launch related products in the middle of next year.
