Title: Is the presence of female crew necessary?
As a seafarer for many years, I have experienced different life on board. In my opinion, the environment on board is very closed, and male nature is often difficult to control in this environment, which is why there are few female occupants on board. However, with the development of the times, women began to flood into the nautical industry. This got me thinking about whether there should be a female crew on board.
Looking back on my experience, at one point I was on a boat with only one female crew. She fell in love with the only male crew member and married while on vacation. The presence of the two of them did not bring any problems to the life on board, but brought joy and happiness to everyone. On another ship, however, when the female crew entered the ship, the lives of the crew changed drastically.
At first, the presence of female crew members made the crew argue, especially the older generation of crews. They are not used to having women on board, believing that this will adversely affect work and safety on board. However, the company believes that women should also have the opportunity to work on board, so it has placed female crew members on our ships. Although the female crew members themselves were excellent and obedient, relations between the crew gradually deteriorated. Among them, a delicate relationship was formed between the deck sailor and the female crew, which led to the emergence of many problems.
The contact between deck sailors and female crew members during working hours gave them a unique tacit understanding, which displeased the rest of the crew. At the same time, the ship's mechanics were unbalanced by the contact between the female crew and the sailors. So, the mechanics tried to establish a relationship with the female crew members, but the connection between them did not yield good results. This led to a conflict between mechanics and sailors, which eventually developed into a fierce quarrel.
The situation gradually spiraled out of control, and finally in an argument, the female crew member was accidentally injured, which shocked the entire crew. In a subsequent investigation, the captain concluded that none of the three crew members were fit to remain on board, and they were immediately dismissed. Although this decision caused dissatisfaction among the crew, I think the captain did the right thing.
As captain, he is responsible for ensuring the safety and stability of the ship, and the actions of the three crew members jeopardize the safety of the ship. Although the female crew member is not to blame, her presence undoubtedly exacerbates the situation. I don't mean to belittle the abilities or qualities of women, just based on my knowledge and experience of the environment on board, I think that the boat should be dominated by men.
Of course, this is only my personal opinion, and does not represent the consensus of the nautical industry. Perhaps one day, over time, women will gradually play an important role in the field of navigation, changing the current male-dominated situation on ships. For now, however, I think whether there should be a female crew on board needs to be carefully considered.
In any case, we expect every crew member to perform their duties professionally and responsibly to ensure safety and harmony on board. Whether male or female, everyone should respect and abide by the rules and regulations on board to create a good working environment. Only in this way can we ensure the prosperity and development of the nautical industry.
