The Yangtze River Poyang Lake Aquatic Biological Protection Base Project, which integrates scientific research and education, tourism research, parent-child recreation, health and leisure, is an ecological civilization demonstration area project built by Hukou County based on the geographical coordinates of "mountains, rivers and lakes", combined with ecological resource endowments and cultural heritage advantages.
The project has a planned land area of 3,200 mu, and has invested 300 million yuan to build a 22,000-square-meter freshwater fish exhibition hall in the entire basin of the Changjiang River and a 320-acre Yangtze River Porpoise Wetland Park. At present, more than 120 species of fish have been registered in the museum, with a total of more than 12,000 fish, including fish hunts, baby fish, cochineal, jingiro, sharks, canned fish and other species with conservation and scientific research value. Since its trial operation on December 31, 2022, it has received more than 200,000 tourists.
The project plans to build the Yangtze River porpoise protection and rescue center, characteristic agricultural breeding center, parent-child play center, ecological health center, etc., and strives to revitalize natural ecological resources, enhance the value of education and cultural tourism, promote the transformation of ecological environmental advantages into ecological economic advantages, and is emerging as an Internet celebrity check-in place in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
