In fact, European countries have not provided new assistance to Ukraine for a long time, and previous promises have not been fulfilled. Ukraine's only recent acquisition may be a promise to supply F-16 fighters, but has not actually acquired them.
Europe seems to have been waiting for some country to take the lead in distancing itself from Ukraine, and Lithuania has already played that role.
Ukraine is doomed to abandonment, because it is not uncommon for the United States and Western countries to abandon proxies.
