After the public consultation is closed, the preparation team expects to officially publish the Code around November and begin implementation.

Sodium-ion batteries have attracted much attention because of their low price, stable system, more low temperature resistance, good charge and discharge rate performance, which can meet the energy density requirements of two-wheeled electric vehicles, power tools, energy storage, and A00-level electric vehicles, and give full play to the excellent safety characteristics of sodium-ion batteries.

In addition, sodium resources are rich in storage, data show that the abundance of sodium in the earth's crust is as high as 2.75%, and there are global distributions, continental resources are not low, so the cost of sodium ore resources is extremely low, as long as 2 yuan / kg, for batteries, the cost of sodium ions and lithium-ion batteries will not be dozens of times worse, but the material cost of sodium-ion batteries is at least 30-40% lower.

Sodium-ion batteries have been many battery manufacturers in phase, and carried out in-depth research and development, CATL launched the first generation of sodium-ion batteries in 2021, energy density 160Wh/kg, charging at room temperature for 15 minutes, the power can reach 80%, and in the environment of minus 20 °C low temperature, there is still a discharge retention rate of more than 90%.

The Ningde era has been developing the second generation of sodium-ion batteries, and the energy density can be increased to 200Wh/kg, which is similar to the energy density of the current mainstream lithium iron phosphate batteries, and it is beginning to approach ternary lithium batteries, and it is reported that Chery electric models will be launched for the first time.
