Three over the grass
In 1930, after Chiang Kai-shek consolidated his rule under the Kuomintang, he began a large-scale encirclement of the Red Army. However, Zhang Guotao, the head of the Red Fourth Front, did not approve of this battle plan. This person was arrogant and eager to achieve quick results, repeatedly argued with Chairman Mao and others, and even turned a deaf ear to the battle plan drawn up by the Party Central Committee.
Since the strength of the Red Army at this time was still relatively weak, if it chose to act separately, it would be easy to be defeated by the Kuomintang troops one by one. Out of consideration for the overall situation, Chairman Mao chose to back down and continue to lead his army north.
In August of the same year, the Red Army units were reorganized, and Zhu Laozong and Liu Bocheng led the Left Road Army to continue north, crossing the grassland as soon as possible and reaching the Sichuan Ba and the Brazilian region.
A month later, Zhang Guotao once again rejected Chairman Mao's battle plan and insisted on leading the Red Fourth Army to fight south.
