The reporter learned from the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the toroidal solar radio imaging telescope located in Daocheng County, Sichuan Province passed the process test on September 27, and the telescope is one of the landmark equipment of the national major scientific and technological infrastructure space environment ground-based comprehensive monitoring network (Meridian Project II), which will provide high-quality observation data for mainland solar physics and space weather research.

According to reports, the torus array solar radio imaging telescope is currently the world's largest comprehensive aperture radio telescope, which can not only monitor the various explosion activities of the sun, but also monitor the process of solar storms entering interplanetary space, which helps to understand the solar eruption mechanism and the sun-earth propagation law of solar storms, and then predict the impact of solar activity on the earth.
