On 26 September, rain again began in several areas of the Greek plain of Thessaly, and rain is expected to continue over the next two days. Some towns have yet to recover from the torrential rains at the beginning of the month, and the new rains have further exacerbated the local disaster, with houses and farmland flooded and continued to damage, roads muddy, and sofas, mattresses, wardrobes and other furniture that had been badly damaged in the floods piled up on both sides. As many of the affected people have not yet returned to their homes, reconstruction efforts have not yet taken place on a large scale.
