Huawei's Starflash technology was actually released in early August, and earlier, it was equipped with this technology on the Honor brand's mobile phones (and later seemed to be blocked). The simple explanation is that he is an alternative technology to Bluetooth, and it is the existence of Bluetooth in all aspects.
The most important thing is that for wireless peripherals, it may be possible to completely get rid of the "invisible line" of one machine corresponding to one receiver.
First, the significance of star flash for peripherals
There is a lot of information on the Internet, I will not go into detail about Star Flash.
A direct picture, comparing Starlight and Bluetooth:
Specific features used in peripheral circles are lower power consumption and lower latency. Previously, Bluetooth had a minimum latency of nearly 10ms and was very susceptible to interference. So we have so many three-mode products on the market, in the final analysis, the transmission delay of Bluetooth is high, the stability is poor, so wireless peripherals have to add 2.4G connection on the basis of Bluetooth that does not need the receiver for long battery life.
Moreover, the upper limit of the return rate of ordinary 2.4G receivers is only 1000Hz, and to use equipment with a return rate above 2K, you need to use a dedicated larger receiving device.
But Starflash latency can be as low as 0.25ms, achieving returns of up to 4KHz, and if the device itself supports Starflash, it doesn't even require an additional receiver to achieve this rate of return. And the current 2K return rate of equipment power consumption is very high, according to the characteristics of Starlight, you can achieve 4K in a lower power consumption than Bluetooth, which is not only far ahead, this is directly black technology.
Second, the next step is the issue of promotion
At present, the brands that have joined the Star Alliance have basically concentrated the vast majority of domestic digital industry bosses.
As of today, a total of three brands known in the peripheral circle have announced that they will launch a mouse with Starflash technology, namely Thor, VGN and Dharma Shark, of which Raytheon's ML903 has opened pre-sale. In terms of mechanical keyboards, there are no brands to release related products for the time being (it may also be that my news is blocked, hope to be reminded).
VGN and Dharma shark are still present in the promotional image stage for the time being. But I believe that in the future, Starflash technology will form a standard on peripherals, and domestic devices will eliminate 2.4G and Bluetooth within a few years.
Let's take a look at the hints of Star Flash from Thor's pre-sold mouse for the time being.
The first is stronger anti-interference ability:
Next is ultra-low latency and 4K polling rate, the key is to see this receiver, and our conventional 2.4G receiver or additional Bluetooth module size is the same, no longer the traditional receiver bulk.
But then again, if you are not to make fun, I still don't recommend you to get on this car, the current price of 299 is still expensive, domestic 3395 mice are generally within 200 yuan, add a star flash technology, the cost will not be significantly improved, the follow-up should soon have cheaper star flash mouse, keyboard appear.
Third, the future of the stars
Although the only Starflash peripheral products for the time being also need to be equipped with a special receiver, it is considering that Starflash is an alternative technology to Bluetooth and can be applied to headphones, so if the host supports it, it does not need a receiver at all. Or if we buy a product similar to Starflash receiver, we can also let our computer equipment that originally did not support Starflash support Starlight.
Then, like Bluetooth, one device can connect N Starflash devices at the same time, eliminating the need for one receiver per device. The Starflash device can support lower latency than 2.4G and lower power consumption than Bluetooth. No more worrying about not having enough U ports, no more worrying about not finding a 2.4G receiver.
At this time, maybe some friends have found out, isn't this a Youlian that everyone can use without having to change it themselves? Logitech may be the biggest loser, just kidding.
