"I haven't played in the country for a long time and it's exciting. There was a certain gap in the quality of the opponent in this game, and I tried some new ways of playing during the game. While there are expectations for a gold medal at the Asian Games, there will be a greater focus on the process, and the results will follow. Zheng Qinwen said after the game.

In the men's singles, the tournament's top seed Zhang Zhizhen faced Saudi Arabia's Hugbani in this round. The 25-year-old Saudi took the initiative in the opening stages of the first set, breaking back-to-back to hold a 3-0 lead, after which Zhang Zhizhen steadied himself to tie the score at 5-5 and break serve in the crucial 11th game to win the first set 7-5. Zhang Zhizhen, who played more smoothly in the second set, won 6-2. Wu Yixiang also lost two straight sets to defeat Indonesia's Justin Barki 7-5, 6-1 to advance to the next round.

"The first singles match of the Asian Games was difficult, the opponent played very well, I was surprised that there were so many spectators watching the game, the 0:3 start was a little bit uneasy, after the equalization was much better, and the second set was smoother." Zhang Zhizhen said.

Wu Yixiang/Zhang Zhizhen defeated a Qatari pair 6-3, 6-4 in the men's doubles match, and Zhu Lin's partner Buyun Chaokert in the first round of mixed doubles won straight sets to advance.
