Although Armenia is a small country, its combat effectiveness is not weak. Armenia was undoubtedly an economically strong republic during the former Soviet Union. The capital, Yerevan, was the most important city of the Soviet Union in the Caucasus. After the collapse of the USSR, Armenia won almost all conflicts in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The former Chief of the General Staff of Armenia, Movses Khakobyyan, revealed a series of problems in Armenia on the program. The reason why these four fighters did not appear was because these fighters did not have a matching missile at all. This is the problem of the Armenian army. Hakobyan was strongly opposed to the purchase of the Su-30 at that time, since Armenia simply did not have enough financial resources to buy enough missiles. The end result is the same as Hakobyan said. Apparently, Armenia bought four fighters to deter Azerbaijan. But I didn't expect Azerbaijan to actually send troops.
And then there is the issue of anti-aircraft missiles. At that time, the Armenian army did not buy the Tolle air defense system, as Hakobyan suggested, but another one. Doyle's air defense system performs relatively well in Russian-made ones, but another non-Russian product is not so good.
Khakobyan also spoke about the psychedelic actions of the Armenian army during the war. Due to the massive offensive of Turkish UAVs, Armenia does not have enough anti-aircraft weapons to respond. They urgently purchased an electronic jamming system from the Russian army. At one point, this electronic jamming system led to a massive suppression of Turkish drones within four days.
But four days later, Turkey changed the command band for the drone, by which time the electronic jamming system had lost its function. The Armenian military did not ask Russian engineers to modify electronic jamming systems. In the end, the Armenian army was dragged into the abyss of defeat. When the war reached its peak, they did not ask the Russian army for help. Instead, they chose to keep regular troops in the country and send volunteer troops to the front line.
Although the volunteers are full of enthusiasm for serving the country, they are unable to undertake major tasks in terms of combat capability.
