Okazaki Castle
A Japanese castle located in Okazaki Domain in Mikawa Province (now Yasuso-cho, Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture). Place of birth. Alias Dragon City.
From the Sengoku period to the Azuchi Momoyama period, it was the castle of the Matsudaira clan, and the Edo period was the domain hall of okazaki domain. Okazaki Castle was originally recorded as "Gangchi Castle". The castle tower we see at the beginning was restored in 1959 (Showa 34).
It is located on a hill called Longtou Mountain, where two drinking lines meet. At the earliest times, it was built by the guardian of the Renmu clan of the Mikawa Kingdom, father and son, to defend the northern part of the Mikawa Kingdom (stronghold, fortress), then called Longtou San zhao.

The history of Okazaki Castle
In the first year of The Year of Xiangde (1452) or the first year of Kangzheng (1455), the Mikawa Kingdom guarded the nishiki clan's vassals, and the Mikawa Kingdom guardian Daisei Saigo clan built the Longtou Sanzhao.
At the end of the 15th century, the Matsudaira family three generations · After the attack on Longtou Mountain, the son-in-law of the Saigo clan (the fifth son) became the lord of Longtou Mountain, and the Okazaki Matsudaira family founded it.
In the 4th year of his reign (1531), he defeated the Okazaki Matsudaira clan (grandfather) to seize control of the castle and was trying to develop the domain, but was murdered because of the family's plot, known in history as the Mori Landslide.
In the 11th year of astronomy (1542), Shōtoya (Tokugawa Ieyasu) was born. It is said that the roof at that time was covered with thatch, and although it was a stone source, the fence was only piled up with dirt and planted with turf.
In the 18th year of astronomy (1549), the castle lord (father) was also murdered, and this place was annexed by the Imakawa family and became a branch of the Imakawa family, and the lord of the castle was a vassal of the Imakawa family.
In the 3rd year of Nagaroku (1560), he was killed in battle at the Battle of Barrel Panma, and as a hostage (Tokugawa Ieyasu), he recaptured Okazaki Castle, where he had been born, and became independent from the present-day Kawayasu family.
In 1570, he moved his residence to Hamamatsu Castle, and Okazaki Castle was handed over to his son. However, because his son was plotting against him, he ordered the execution of his son and wife, and Okazaki Castle was handed over to a heavy courtier as the acting lord of the city.

In the 18th year of Tenshō (1590), he was asked to transfer the seal to Kanto, and Okazaki Castle was changed to a vassal of the Toyotomi family. As an important stronghold for surveillance, Okazaki Castle was greatly reinforced and rebuilt, and was renovated into a modern castle, which is also the basic scale and prototype of Okazaki Castle today.
