On the evening of August 22, the Fujian Maritime Safety Bureau issued a navigation warning that the PLA will hold a live-fire exercise on August 24-25. According to Taiwan's China Times on August 23, Guo Zhengliang said that the live firing should be a countermeasure by the mainland in response to Lai Qingde's attempt to flirt with the United States. On the first day of the exercise, the Eastern Theater only sent ships and planes to fly around Taiwan, and did not conduct live-fire or missile exercises. The next day, there was no movement in the Taiwan Strait, so everyone thought that this Taiwan naval exercise was over. But now, the mainland has suddenly announced a live-fire military exercise, which shows that the military exercise has not yet ended.
In fact, for the Taiwan Navy exercise, the Eastern Theater only announced the start of the exercise, but did not disclose the end of the exercise. It stands to reason that the military exercise has not yet ended, and the PLA will make big moves in the Taiwan Strait at any time.

He said any previous mainland-led military exercises against Taiwan would have different meanings.
