Taiwan prides itself on being a model for a "democratic" society, and the dismissal of Chen Baiwei, a "legislator of the Radical Progressive Party," was hailed by public opinion as a "victory of democracy." However, for this "victory of democracy," DPP leader Tsai Ing-wen is not happy, let alone welcome. Recently, Tsai Ing-wen personally called Chen Baiwei to cheer him up and praise him for "working until the last moment", which is worthy of everyone's affirmation. Encourage him to continue to work hard for Taiwan in the future.
"It deserves everyone's affirmation", this statement is a bit overstated. Tsai Ing-wen can only represent herself, at most a handful. The so-called rabbit death fox sorrow, things hurt its kind. Tsai Ing-wen's death-to-defend Chen Baiwei is not to value How noble Chen Baiwei is, but to see that he has a common language with himself and the DPP on the issue of "Taiwan independence." Although Chen Baiwei is not a member of the Democratic Progressive Party, the "Radical Progressive Party" to which he belongs also takes "Taiwan independence" as its program and upholds the concept of "resisting China and defending Taiwan." Chen Baiwei set two records in Taiwan's electoral history, one is that the voter turnout for his recall is as high as 51.72%, which is the highest record for recall in Taiwan's history; the other is that the number of votes agreeing to his removal exceeded the 25% threshold and reached 77,899 votes, higher than the 73,433 votes that did not agree to the recall, so Chen Baiwei became the first "legislator" in Taiwan's history to be deposed. When Chen Baiwei was deposed, Tsai Ing-wen was a death defender, and the number of votes opposing his removal was as high as 73,433, which included the "painstaking efforts" of Tsai Ing-wen and the Dpp to encourage him. It's just that Tsai Ing-wen has more than enough heart and insufficient strength to save him.
Chen Baiwei was nicknamed "3Q" because of his mantra "thank you". The civil society organization that removed him also called itself "Deleted Q Headquarters". Although the "Deletion Q Headquarters" has repeatedly stated that the removal of Chen Baiwei has nothing to do with the "blue-green duel", it is simply that he is not suitable for office. But the interpretation of public opinion is not so simple. Chen Baiwei, known as the "anti-Korean general", once fiercely criticized Han Hanyu, who was the mayor of Kaohsiung at the time, in the form of selfies and live broadcasts, which eventually led to Han Hanyu being deposed as the mayor of Kaohsiung. This time it was his turn. Han Kuo-yu is the first county and city chief to be deposed in Taiwan's electoral history, and Chen Baiwei is the first "legislator" in Taiwan's history to be deposed.
Around the dismissal of Chen Baiwei, the KMT and the DPP launched an unprecedented voting "big war." On the KMT side, former KMT Chairman Jiang Qichen shouted that "dismissing Chen Baiwei is tantamount to deposing the Tsai Government," and Zhu Lilun, the current KMT chairman, personally went into battle shirtless and shouted "We must be deposed." The DPP, because of its poor performance in vaccines and bailouts, aroused public resentment, and coupled with Chen Baiwei's poor reputation, he was a "dou who could not be helped.", so although he repeatedly cheered for Chen Baiwei, he could not save the decline of being deposed.
Why does the KMT have to remove Chen Baiwei, because Chen Baiwei is a "Taiwan independence" element who is even more stubborn than the DPP. The "Radical Progressive Party" is a political party that adheres to "Taiwan independence," and Chen Baiwei is the only "legislator" in the "Radical Progressive Party." Removing Chen Baiwei is tantamount to cutting off a cancerous tumor of "Taiwan independence." And Tsai Ing-wen's protection of Chen Baiwei, hoping that Chen Baiwei can continue to fight for Taiwan, is to hope to save her own left arm and right arm. Although Chen Baiwei's removal was initiated by the non-governmental "deletion of the Q headquarters", it eventually evolved into a two-party showdown between the DPP and the KMT. In this battle, the Kuomintang won.
The removal of Chen Baiwei has added another glimmer of hope to the "peaceful reunification" of the two sides of the strait. After all, there are still many people in Taiwan who identify with "one China" and oppose "Taiwan independence." The "peaceful reunification" of the two sides of the strait is most in line with the common interests of the compatriots on both sides of the strait, and the "Taiwan independence" elements are removed one by one through "democracy" by vote, which is of course the best result. It is only Tsai Ing-wen, who stubbornly insists on "Taiwan independence," that she can only watch as "democracy" beheads ma Mo.
