According to the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, Yi Jun, secretary of the party committee and chairman of Guobao Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Guobao Life), is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and is currently under disciplinary review and supervision and investigation.
Yi Jun is 57 years old and a native of Mianzhu, Sichuan. Yi Jun has worked for the Sichuan provincial government for a long time. Before serving as the chairman of Guobao Life, Yi Jun has been engaged in investment promotion for a long time. From December 1995 to January 2013, Yi Jun successively served as the deputy director of the Investment Promotion Office of the Sichuan Provincial Government, the deputy director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Sichuan Provincial Government, the director of the Third Division of International Cooperation of the Sichuan Investment Promotion Bureau, the member of the Party Group and the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau, and the member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Sichuan Investment Promotion Bureau.
From January 2013 to October 2018, Yi Jun served as a member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Sichuan Investment Promotion Bureau, and since July 2014, he has served as the head of the preparatory team for Guobao Life. Since June 2018, Yi Jun has served as the chairman of Guobao Life.
Guobao Life is the first national joint-stock life insurance company led by the Sichuan Provincial Government and headquartered in Chengdu. On January 24, 2017, the China Insurance Regulatory Commission officially issued the "Reply on the Approval of the Establishment of Guobao Life Insurance Co., Ltd." (CiRC License [2017] No. 57) document, approving the establishment of the company. On March 27, 2018, the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC) officially issued the "Reply of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission on the Opening of Guobao Life Insurance Co., Ltd." (CBRC License [2018] No. 21), approving the company's opening with a registered capital of RMB 1.5 billion and a registered place in Chengdu. On April 18, 2018, National Treasure Life held an unveiling ceremony.
The shareholders of Guobao Life are composed of large state-owned enterprises and private enterprises, specifically: Sichuan Development (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (20% shareholding, the same below), Chengdu Advanced Manufacturing Industry Investment Co., Ltd. (13.5%), CICC Guotai Holding Group Co., Ltd. (13.5%), Shanghai Zhongjiu Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. (13.5%), Sichuan Sichuan Business Development Holding Group Co., Ltd. (12%), Chongqing Jinyang Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. (12%), Sichuan Xiongfei Group Co., Ltd. (10%), Chengdu Tianxinyang Gold Industry Co., Ltd. (5%), New Hope Liuhe Investment Co., Ltd. (1%).
