On August 31, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata made its North American debut, with a new design on the front and optional four-wheel drive. It is equipped with 2.0-liter hybrid, 2.5-liter self-priming, and 2.5T power, and will be launched in the U.S. this winter.
Externally, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata's front design is very different from the old model, completely redesigned, adopting a sensual and sporty design language, and equipped with daytime running lights that span the width of the front end. The 2024 Sonata also features new switchgear, an improved center console and a repositioned shift lever. In terms of power, the 2024 Sonata will have three powertrains, including a 2.5-liter self-priming engine, a 2.5T turbocharged engine and a 2.0-liter hybrid. The company did not fully disclose performance figures, but foreign media said that the 2.5T engine has a maximum output of 290 horsepower, while the hybrid has a combined power of 192 horsepower.
Although there are still some problems, Hyundai confirmed that the Sonata, equipped with a 2.5-liter engine, will be equipped with an optional four-wheel drive system for the first time. The 2024 Sonata will be officially available in the U.S. this winter, and pricing will be announced on the eve of the launch.
