Demystifying Traditional Chinese Medicine | Zhang Hongqin: Jingfang has been passed down through the ages, and the wonderful side benefits the people

Red Network Moment News on August 23 (correspondent Tao Yan Liu Dan) Use an endoscope to see the "inside" of the disease, and use traditional prescriptions to improve the "environment" of the body... Unknowingly, Zhang Hongqin, director of the Department of Gastroenterology (Department of Spleen and Gastroenterology, Department of Hepatology) of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine (Hunan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine), has been fighting on the front line and deeply engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases in Chinese and Western medicine for 28 years.

On July 28, reporters came to his office. A stack of prescription lists, several ancient books of Chinese medicine, his desk is "simple but thick" -

Since his practice of medicine, he has prescribed countless "small prescriptions" to relieve patients' urgent needs, and the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine left by his ancestors has helped him achieve his achievements in the diagnosis and treatment of difficult and miscellaneous diseases such as functional gastrointestinal diseases, liver cirrhosis, and gastroesophageal reflux.

"Maybe in this life, it is related to Chinese medicine"

Deep in the vast mountains of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, there are many traditional Chinese medicine materials scattered. When he was a child, Zhang Hongqin liked to go with his friends to collect honeysuckle and beat loquat leaves, and he could exchange money for fun.

There was an old Chinese medicine doctor in the village, who was a "god man" in his heart when he was a child - he had seen this old Chinese doctor heal his father's bone spurs, and at that time, he called it "magical".

Until now, Zhang Hongqin did not know what medicine was used by the old Chinese medicine at that time, but he remembered that after the outbreak of jaundice hepatitis (hepatitis A) in the village at that time, the old Chinese medicine used Yin Chen and Tian Jihuang, just such two flavors of medicine, cured the people of a village.

Zhang Hongqin admits that Chinese medicine is magical, but in his heart, in that era, the most amazing thing actually had to be computers. But fate did not let Zhang Hongqin bond with "IT", and after graduating from high school, Zhang Hongqin was admitted to Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (now Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine). "Typhoid Miscellaneous Diseases", "The Yellow Emperor's Internal Canon"... At that time, Zhang Hongqin often wondered, "All the ancient classics are learned, can this cure diseases?" In the first semester of his freshman year, he took the last place in the course "Medical Ancient Literature", and the teacher said to him: "If you don't sincerely want to study medicine, you can go back." ”

Fortunately, this stubborn and studious young man was very motivated at heart, and since then, he decided to study seriously, completed the counterattack during college, and returned to his hometown after graduation in 1995 to the Department of Internal Medicine of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Ethnic Hospital and became a doctor accompanied by endoscopy.

At that time, the locals did not pay much attention to Chinese medicine, so he usually used Western medicine to treat diseases. It wasn't until he received his first thank-you letter in his medical career that his philosophy changed again.

Around mid-June 1996, a patient with chronic hepatitis B came to the department, his condition was serious, his jaundice was also very deep, and he was treated in many places and never improved.

At the mention of "jaundice", Zhang Hongqin suddenly remembered the old Chinese medicine doctor in the village, who used Yin Chen and Tian Jihuang to treat jaundice for everyone. But this formula is suitable for yang yellow humid heat type, and the patient in front of him is yin yellow cold and wet type, which is not suitable.

"You can use Yin Chen Shu to attach soup!" When everyone was helpless, Zhang Hongqin remembered this sutra in "Medical Enlightenment": "Yin Chen Shu with soup to treat the face is yellow, the body is cold and not thirsty, and the urine is yellow and profitable." At that time, everyone was suspicious of this young junior, but could not find any better way, so his proposal was accepted.

On the third day of drinking, the patient's urine becomes clear; On the fifth day of taking the drug, bilirubin plummeted from more than 100 at the time of admission to about 32... Surprising changes appeared, the patient gradually improved, and it didn't take long for him to be discharged.

"Jing Fang is completely incredible! When you first went to college, why didn't you 'look at'? After that incident, Zhang Hongqin turned over all the university textbooks and re-studied them. In 2008, he was introduced by Hunan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a talent to work in the Department of Gastroenterology, which also put forward higher requirements for his TCM diagnosis and treatment level.

"At that time, I felt that in this life, I was associated with Chinese medicine." He said.

"I want more people to see that TCM is an advanced form of treatment"

"After thoroughly reading the works of my ancestors, coupled with my clinical experience over the years, I feel more and more that our Chinese medicine focuses on regulating the internal environment of the body, which is a very advanced treatment method!" Looking back on his medical experience over the years, Zhang Hongqin told reporters that over the years, he has adopted the model of "endoscopes and other Western medical methods to find lesions and prescribe traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions to treat".

In August 2016, Zhang Hongqin accompanied the team to Yuanling for a free clinic. During ward rounds in the gastroenterology ward of the local hospital of traditional Chinese medicine, there was a typical case that caused many people a headache.

The patient is Lao Wang (surname changed), a fisherman on the edge of the Yuan River, who works on the water all year round, and his physique is typical of cold and wet type. In order to ward off the cold, Lao Wang had to drink some highly inferior liquor every day, and he did not want to suffer from alcoholic cirrhosis. During the hospitalization, through treatment, his ascites has been eliminated, but Lao Wang always felt that he still had "stomach swelling", and he lay in the hospital for more than 20 days, and all examinations were done, but he could not find the cause.

After the consultation, Zhang Hongqin quickly had his own thoughts. "Drinking alcohol all year round makes its mouth dry and bitter; perennial water, cold lower limbs; Suffering from liver cirrhosis, frequent loose stool, there must be a problem with water metabolism..." At that time, Zhang Hongqin told everyone that Lao Wang was a typical "upper heat and lower cold, gallbladder heat and spleen cold, and it was recommended to use Zhang Zhongjing's "Chaihu Gui Zhi Dry Ginger Soup" plus and minus medicinal materials such as Fengshi White Peony to prescribe the right medicine.

"After returning to Changsha, within a few days I received a call from the hospital, and the effect was very good, all the symptoms disappeared." Zhang Hongqin recalled that at that time, the hospital even wanted to "copy" this recipe for other patients, but Zhang Hongqin refused: "Traditional Chinese medicine is one person, and the ancients left the wisdom of 'dialectical treatment', which cannot be overturned." ”

This is by no means an isolated case, Zhang Hongqin has solved difficult problems for many people over the years, including many patients who have come from afar.

Previously, a 68-year-old Jiangxi patient with functional gastrointestinal diseases came to admire, the damage caused by the disease was very abrasive, the summer sun in Changsha was like fire, but the patient came to the consultation room wearing two cotton clothes, afraid of cold, bloating, sweating like rain, not wanting to eat, bad wind, dry mouth and bitter mouth, local treatment for a long time did not improve, 2 months weight loss of 25 pounds.

By asking about the medical history, it turned out that the patient had a history of chronic gastritis in the past, with obvious cold triggers, mixed cold and heat, in line with the prescription of half-summer laxative soup, so Zhang Hongqin decided to use Zhongjing's original prescription for 7 days, the upper symptoms were greatly reduced, and then considered that the patient was depressed due to illness and uncomfortable, so he switched to four reverse scattered and half summer magnolia soup plus minus conditioning for 1 month, and finally let the patient recover.

Zhang Hongqin believes that the idea of TCM treatment is to try to change the environment in the stomach and replace the allopathic treatment currently used in Western medicine.

Engaged in the treatment of digestive diseases, we have to mention "Helicobacter pylori". Over the years, Zhang Hongqin has also blazed his own trail in this regard. He believes that all living things are products of the environment, and Helicobacter pylori is no exception, and if the environment in the stomach cannot provide the soil for Helicobacter pylori to live, then Helicobacter pylori naturally cannot survive.

Helicobacter pylori is a Western medical concept, corresponding to traditional Chinese medicine, which is believed by the industry to belong to the category of stomach pain and bloating. "Have you found that these patients are generally full after eating a little, and hungry just after eating? It is accompanied by severe halitosis. This is actually a mixture of cold and heat. Zhang Hongqin said.

This conforms to the principle of "stomach fire, valley and hunger" in Chinese medicine theory. Generally speaking, Western medicine is commonly used to kill bacteria, but as everyone knows, such bacteria will exist in the human body for a long time, "In the final analysis, I think we still need to regulate the internal environment of patients with cold and heat through traditional Chinese medicine, so as to eliminate Helicobacter pylori." ”

Therefore, Zhang Hongqin advocated the use of half-summer soup. Clinical experience has confirmed that good efficacy has been achieved, which is very touched by Zhang Ming (pseudonym), who has been plagued by Helicobacter pylori.

"The bacteria are obviously eliminated, but the mouth ulcers have not been good, long and disappear, disappeared and long, one after another, really annoying!" Zhang Ming recalled that at that time, he came to Zhang Hongqin's outpatient clinic with the attitude of trying it, got the half-summer soup, and added the dose of licorice, "The doctor said that I was weak, so I could try this recipe." Zhang Ming said.

The young guy will be suspicious, but he didn't expect to eat three pairs, and the effect came! Review after two weeks and gradually recover; After half a year, there were no symptoms. This made Zhang Ming happy, and also allowed this young guy to break the "stereotype" of Chinese medicine.

The medical experience gradually accumulated, Zhang Hongqin "saw more", the more he felt that he "will not know too little", until now, he still maintains the habit of learning, "live to be old, learn the old", simple 6 characters, is Zhang Hongqin's principle.

"Whether it is Western medicine or Chinese medicine, only by constantly accumulating experience, reviewing knowledge, and drawing inferences in their own fields can we maintain a progressive attitude and create a better future for more patients." He said.
