Shenzhen News Network, August 23, 2023 (Shenzhen Evening News reporter Fangzhou intern Chen Xinyi) During the interview, Liu Jia turned out two Polaroid photos of himself - one is Liu Jia when he was a child, with his hands in his pockets with a childish face; In the other photo, Liu Jia is dressed in formal clothes and shows maturity. The characters in both photographs are in the same pose, but span 32 years in between.

"This photo was taken at the Xiangjiang Hotel in Shenzhen in 1991, when I was 4 years old. The other photo was taken this year at the office of the newly completed Chuangbo Hub Acceleration Center. More than 10 years ago, Liu Jia, a young man from Hong Kong, crossed the Shenzhen River and rushed to the sea to pursue her career and love. Today, he and his wife Wu Xiaoxia's warm small home and original entrepreneurial dream are taking root and blossoming in this fertile soil of reform.

Due to the connection between Qianhai, we traveled back and forth to Shenzhen and Hong Kong to witness the construction of Qianhai

"We have a deep bond with Qianhai." During the interview, Wu Xiaoxia said repeatedly.

In 2010, the State Council officially approved the Overall Development Plan of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone. In the same year, Liu Jia and Wu Xiaoxia met and fell in love at an exhibition. At that time, Liu Jia was looking for new entrepreneurial opportunities in Hong Kong, and Wu Xiaoxia was usually based in Qianhai.

At the beginning of their relationship, the first thing that tested the Shenzhen and Hong Kong couple was the problem of distance. Liu Jia, who lived in Hong Kong at the time, cleared customs every two days and came to Qianhai. "I used to wait four or five hours at her company until she delivered her supper after work and returned to Hong Kong, often in the early hours of the morning." Liu Jia said.

Liu Jia's ancestral home is in Shanghai, and after moving to Hong Kong with her father's generation, she grew up in Hong Kong. Wu Xiaoxia is a native of Guangdong and has lived and worked in Shenzhen for a long time.

On Christmas Eve 2014, "he kept waiting at home for me to celebrate with me after work, but I was working overtime that day." "Arriving home exhausted, Wu Xiaoxia saw more than 20 Christmas gifts stacked on the table, and the slightly clumsy packaging technique told her that this was a surprise prepared by Liu Jia." I don't think this separation can continue. Wu Xiaoxia said.

Liu Jia, who has been in love for 5 years and has been constantly traveling between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, has a more concrete impression of Qianhai and witnessed the rapid changes in Qianhai. In 2015, Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Area was officially launched. In this year, the love run of the two finally came to fruition.

After marriage, the two played a more important role in each other's lives, and the plan to accompany their lover and develop their career in Qianhai was gradually put on the agenda by Liu Jia.

Starting from scratch in Qianhai When the first "crab-eaters" were the first

In 2010, Liu Jia, who had just returned from studying in Australia, was faced with a choice when he worked for a Hong Kong trading company with a good salary and a career that was just getting better. At that time, going to Shenzhen to start a business was a riskier choice.

On one side is Hong Kong, which he is familiar with, and on the other side is Shenzhen, which is developing with each passing day. Friends and family persuaded him to return to a stable life in Hong Kong, but he eventually chose to start a business from scratch in Qianhai. "On the one hand, the reason for choosing Qianhai is because the entrepreneurial atmosphere and business environment here are very good, and it is very friendly to entrepreneurs; On the other hand, Qianhai was in the initial stage of construction at that time, which provided many support policies and development opportunities. More importantly, my wife is familiar with Qianhai and she gave me a lot of courage. ”

Liu Jia quipped that his wife Wu Xiaoxia has been playing the role of "Shenzhen spokesperson" after marriage. "Over the years, we have witnessed the whole process of Qianhai from a beach to a high-rise building, and time has given us the answer. Instead of waiting ten years to make a decision, be brave and be the first to 'eat crabs'. Wu Xiaoxia's words pushed Liu Jia and made him firm up his determination to start from scratch in Qianhai.

Gradually integrate into Qianhai life, love career "double harvest"

After shifting his career focus to Shenzhen, Liu Jia realized that language was his first step in integrating into the city. "At the beginning, I didn't speak Mandarin well and my accent was strong, so I asked a teacher of the broadcast hosting major to guide me from scratch, and after some hard practice, I also obtained the national Mandarin proficiency level certificate." Liu Jia said proudly.

After coming to Qianhai for development, Liu Jia participated in pilot projects for Hong Kong and Macao people many times, and felt that Qianhai's tolerance for Hong Kong people continued to increase. After Qianhai introduced new financial policies last year, he became one of the first Hong Kong and Macau residents to apply for mainland bank accounts and credit cards.

Seeing Liu Jia integrate into the mainland step by step with her own efforts, and her life and career are gradually getting better, Wu Xiaoxia was very surprised. According to Wu Xiaoxia, the Chuangbohui Acceleration Center, which the two jointly founded in Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Dream Factory, has incubated 17 teams, 15 of which are Hong Kong-funded enterprises, and the settled teams have received 74 million yuan in financing this year.

Liu Jia and Wu Xiaoxia have a pair of lovely children, the daughter is 5 years old and the son is 3 years old. In daily life, in order to share the pressure of his wife's work, Liu Jia seems to be the one who can take care of the family better.

"Working in Qianhai during the day, overlooking the grassy Dashahe Park and Shenzhen Bay Park at home, and the nearby Spring Cocoon Stadium is always lively, for me this is the feeling of 'home'!" Recalling more than ten years of hard work in Qianhai, Liu Jia and his wife became more and more happy in familiar scenes.
