The famous Taiwanese performance artist Jin Shijie parachuted into the scene and launched an immersive spiritual dialogue with the audience around the classic drama "Last 14 Tuesday Lessons".

The drama "The Last 14 Tuesday Lessons" is adapted from American writer Mitch Albom's "Meet Tuesday", the original book has been translated into 31 Chinese words and sold well all over the world. The story focuses on the rare disease "frostbite", telling the story of anchor Mitch, who has been confused about life 16 years after graduation, and Professor Murray, an elderly man with more than seventy years of "frostbite", who reunited to discuss life and the meaning of life. Jin Shijie, a titan in the drama industry, and variety show host Bu Xueliang played on the same stage, presenting this life journey that touched the heart. It is reported that from August 16 to 19, the play will appear again at the Beijing Poly Theater.
At the scene of the dialogue, Jin Shijie recalled, "I remember the first time I came to Beijing to perform this play, Tong Daoming, a teacher who studied Chekhov, said at the seminar that the audience in Beijing is not easy to serve, they are all fed by watching (Beijing) human arts. At first, when he saw Bu Xueliang's appearance, he bluntly said that he couldn't accept it, and later felt that this role was none other than him. Speaking of the performance of the play in Shanghai, Jin Shijie bluntly said that he was moved by the audience. "Before the show, a friend told me that the audience here likes to watch flashy, funny plays. There are two actors in your play, the plot is slow and heavy, and the ending is also sad, will the Shanghai audience like it? So after the Shanghai premiere, I didn't leave the stage immediately. Pulling the opening curtain, I saw that many spectators were either sitting or standing, and did not immediately walk away from the theater. I was so moved that I knew everyone was ruminating the play. ”
It is worth mentioning that during the initial rehearsal of "The Last 14 Tuesday Lessons" in 2011, Jin Shijie's wife was pregnant and waiting to give birth. "It was during the premiere of this play in Taipei that my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world. It can be said that how old this play is now, how old is my child. I remember going between the stage, the hospital, and my family every day. This play is mainly about death, and every day I see my wife with a big belly, and I feel that a new life is about to be born. It can be said that I rush between these two themes every day without feeling contradictory. Because when I was looking for the character of Murray, I was gladly going on an interesting date, and I didn't rehearse the play with a sense of tragedy at all. ”

The cross-strait tour has been on tour for 12 years with more than 300 performances, but Jin Shijie believes that his performance in "The Last 14 Tuesday Lessons" has not yet reached a full score, "300 is an extremely high number, a record... In Jin Shijie's view, the theatrical stage is a niche cultural category. "How many people can there be when the audience is full? But niche culture has the appeal of niche culture, it can be high and low, it can not be straightforward and concise, it can cater to the audience, and the actors do not have to be on stage every second to let the audience understand what they are doing. So some film and television stars come to stage plays is a big challenge, he has no NG time, he must perform 'naked' in front of the audience the whole time.
