The reporter of China Securities News learned from the organizers of WAIC 2023 that the total number of guests at this year's conference has reached a new high, and more than 1,400 heavyweight guests such as leading scholars at home and abroad, well-known entrepreneurs, and representatives of international organizations have confirmed their participation. Among them, there are 4 Turing Award winners (David Patterson, Joseph Sfakis, Manuel Bloom, Yao Zhizhi), and 1 Nobel Prize winner (Michael Levitt). More than 50 leaders of leading enterprises at home and abroad, including Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Huawei, and Alibaba, gathered 80 academicians at home and abroad, presidents of 20 well-known universities, and 86 unicorn companies actively attended the meeting.

According to the format of "1+1+2+10+N", the conference plans to hold one opening ceremony, one closing ceremony, two plenary sessions on scientific frontiers and industrial development, 10 thematic forums, and N ecological forums. Combined with the latest policy orientation and technology hotspots, the conference and forum will focus on the three major topic sections of technology, industry and humanities, focusing on ten cutting-edge trends such as large models, smart chips, scientific intelligence, robots, brain-like intelligence, meta-universe, autonomous driving, big data, rule of law and security, and blockchain, and continue to focus on cutting-edge key technologies and carry out forward-looking exploration. Among them, the technical direction forum accounted for nearly 40%.

According to the organizing committee, the 50,000-square-meter World Expo exhibition covers four major sectors: core technology, intelligent terminals, application empowerment, and cutting-edge technology, including large models, chips, robots, intelligent driving and other fields, and the number of exhibitors is expected to exceed 400, including 134 first-time exhibitors, 36 new products for the first exhibition, and the number of exhibitors and exhibition area have reached the highest ever.

This year, for the first time, two major theme exhibitions were set up: "Chinese Industry Innovation Achievements Exhibition" and "Towards General Artificial Intelligence", focusing on AI innovation achievements and future industrial cluster layout. In addition, Zhangjiang, Xuhui and Minhang will be linked to create a variety of scene interaction and application display activities around the metaverse, AI+ART, robotics and other fields, respectively, so that the audience can experience the charm of future technology more immersively and embrace the digital future together.

Robots can move freely in confined spaces

"The user scans the QR code away from the container, and the W3 hotel delivery robot can deliver the food in the container to the customer", the reporter saw at the scene, the W3 hotel delivery robot moved to the container, took out the items from the container, and moved to the front of the customer for distribution.

According to the staff of Keenon Technology, this W3 hotel delivery robot is equipped with an active exhaust hole, which can avoid peculiar smells and keep it fresh, embedded cabin design, waterproof and leak-proof, removable and clean, and also has a fixed cup holder to prevent splashing, which is very suitable for serving tea and delivering water.

XtalPi: Accelerating the digital and intelligent innovation of life sciences and new materials industries

In XtalPi's automated digital intelligence laboratory, the reporter learned that the molecules designed by artificial intelligence are further completed by robotic workstations and other processes. Through the self-developed cloud software control system, R&D personnel can remotely control the robot workstation and the AGV trolley with tandem function, which runs 24/7 ×.

On the one hand, automated experiments can free the hands of R&D personnel, who are less engaged in simple repetitive experiments and more focused on the analysis of data; On the other hand, the experiment can record standardized and traceable process data and positive and negative result data throughout the process, so that the artificial intelligence algorithm model can continuously learn and iterate, better design the reaction route, optimize the reaction process, and form mutual positive feedback of artificial intelligence, automated experiments, and data.

Founded in 2014 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), it is committed to realizing digital and intelligent innovation in the field of life sciences and new materials. Based on cutting-edge technologies and capabilities such as quantum physics, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and large-scale experimental robot clusters, the company provides innovative technologies, services and products for global biomedicine, chemical industry, new energy, new materials and other industries.

According to the company, XtalPi pioneered a new drug R&D model that combines intelligent computing, automated experiments and expert experience, and helped biopharmaceutical companies achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement through its self-developed intelligent automated drug R&D platform (XtalPi Smart Pharmaceutical), and improve the success rate of new drug R&D. XtalPi has cooperated with many multinational pharmaceutical companies, well-known domestic pharmaceutical companies and pioneer biotech enterprises, such as Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Chia Tai Tianqing, Changjiang Life Sciences, etc., participated in more than 180 innovative drug pipelines, served more than 400 customers, and 15 of the world's top 20 multinational pharmaceutical companies have established stable cooperation with XtalPi. At present, XtalPi's drug R&D services cover small molecules, antibodies, peptides, ADCs, RNA drugs, tumor vaccines, etc.

During the development of PAXLOVID, the world's first FDA-approved small molecule oral drug, the XtalPi team teamed up with Pfizer scientists to confirm the dominant crystal form in only 6 weeks, significantly shortening the development cycle and accelerating the drug launch. Recently, XtalPi and Eli Lilly launched an AI small molecule new drug discovery collaboration on an undisclosed innovation target, using XtalPi's small molecule drug discovery platform ID4Inno™ to develop the first innovative drug to fill the unmet clinical drug needs. The total proceeds of the cooperation can reach US$250 million, setting a new record for a single pipeline of AI pharmaceuticals in China.
