Yao Nai (1731-1815), character Ji Chuan, a word dream valley, room name Xi Baoxuan, known as Mr. Xi Hug, Yao Xi Hug. A native of Tongcheng, Anhui. Born into a family of official eunuchs and scholars. He was young and studious, and his uncle Yao Fan taught the scriptures, and then learned ancient Texts from Liu Daxun, who was particularly attached to Yao Nai, saying that he "had a crown belt at the time, and already had wings hanging from the sky" and "later came to the top to wait for his ears". In the fifteenth year of Qianlong (1750), after the 20-year-old he passed the examination and was named Luosun Mountain after five ceremonial examinations, until the twenty-eighth year of Qianlong (1763) when he was 30 years old, he took the sixth examination of the ceremonial department, and only then did he enter the priesthood and be awarded the title of Jishi. After 3 years, the scattered hall was changed to the chief of the department, and it was divided into the military department, and the chief of the ceremonial department of the rotating and supplementary ceremonial department. Later, he successively served as the deputy examiner of the Shandong and Hunan township examinations, and the examination officers and the guangdong silang of the Punishment Department were intermediate posts. In the thirty-eighth year of Qianlong (1773), the Qing court opened the Siku Quanshu Library, and he was recommended to enter the library as a cultivator. This post should have been filled by Hanlin, and 8 people, including Du Yao Nai, Xiu Ning Dai Dongyuan, Xinghua Wu Dachun, and Cheng Jinfang of Shexian County, were elected out of the ordinary. The "Four Libraries of the Whole Book" was completed, and Yao Nai begged to return to The Li and did not enter the career path, when he was 44 years old. The university scholars Yu Minzhong and Liang Guozhi successively moved to the high-ranking official Houlu, but they were both dismissed. Yao Nai said: "The gentleman of the ancients, who is not just a gentleman, will live up to his ambitions when the time comes, and his way can help the public", otherwise, it is better to "calmly advance and retreat, and avoid shame in the blame." Yao Nai did not last long in the official field, but after resigning from the official position, his reputation was prominent, his social status was very high, and his ideological and political tendencies were not contradictory to those of the Qing Dynasty. However, Yao Yu's personal life was quite bumpy, and he married the daughter of the Zhang clan twice, both of whom died in the middle way, which brought him great emotional trauma. He was a disciple of Zhu Lixue and was able to practice Confucian etiquette. In his early years, he actively used the world, full of ambitions to help the people through the world, and after middle age, since he "lacked the strategy of the world", he held the idea of "being good at himself" and concentrated on ancient Texts. Since the forty-second year of Qianlong (1747), Yao Nai has successively taught Yangzhou Meihua Academy, Anqing Jingshi Academy, Shexian Ziyang Academy, and Nanjing Zhongshan Academy, devoting himself to education, so his disciples have spread all over the southern provinces. The biography of the tongcheng school of ancient texts, from Fang Bao to the article called Hai Nei, up to Zhen Chuan, Tongyi Liu Da Xun followed by Yi Zhen, passed to Yao Nai is a collection of Dacheng. Therefore, there is a saying that "the Tongcheng family law, so far is standing, the wind is rhymed, the South Pole Xianggui, the north is Yan Zhao". Licheng Zhou Shuchang said: "The world's articles are in Tongcheng Hu!", Jiaqing fifteen years (1815), 85-year-old Yao Nai died at The Zhongshan Academy in Nanjing. "Mr. Xi Bao Zhi Mu" is a collection of correspondence by the famous qing dynasty essayist Yao Nai.
