From the spring of 1919 to January 1921, there were 20 batches of more than 1,800 work-study students studying in France, who traveled thousands of miles and hardships in the Hanhai Sea, and embarked on the "French coast of the hometown of freedom". But with the exception of a few, many of the more than 1,800 students who studied in France are still unknown today. Their stories, too, have not been fully documented and told.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Headline Seekers, together with Southern Weekend, the crew of the CCTV large-scale documentary "Years of Studying in France", dozens of memorial halls and research institutions related to work-study in France, jointly launched the "Looking for Descendants of Students Studying in France" public welfare project, which will push some information about students who are not now known to people to their places of origin through geographical location precision pop-up technology to their places of origin and look for the descendants of these students who have studied in France.

We hope that through this search, we can restore the years of passionate study in France; after finding the descendants of the students who studied in France, we will also use their memories and narration to salvage the memories that have been flooded by history.
