The "Four Elders of the Long March" were four veteran comrades in the Long March of the Red Army in the 1930s, namely Xu Teli, Lin Boqu, Dong Biwu, and Xie Jueya; among them, Xie Jueya also participated in the formulation of the first "Election Law," the "Land Law," the "Labor Law," the "Marriage Regulations," the "TaxAtion Regulations," the "Regulations on Punishing Counter-Revolution, and the Regulations on Punishing Corrupt Offenders."
Xie Jueya was born in 1884 in Ningxiang, Hunan Province, in 1905, he was admitted to Xiucai, he taught at the Hunan Provincial First Normal School in his early years, and because of the influence of progressive ideas, he actively participated in the May Fourth Movement, and Xie Jueya met and met his wife Wang Dingguo at the Lanzhou Eighth Route Army Office, and then came together.
Wang Dingguo was a native of Anhua Township, Yingshan County, Sichuan Province, his family was poor, and he encountered warlords, Wang Dingguo's sister was starved to death, and after his father died of illness, he had no money to bury, so he had to sell his second brother who was three and a half years old, and Wang Dingguo was sent to a family surnamed Li as a child bride after his father's death.
At that time, there were many girls in such a situation as Wang Dingguo, but there were revolutionaries among the friends of Wang Dingguo's two uncles, and the other party told the young Wang Dingguo a lot of new things outside, such as the female dolls in Chongqing who did not have their feet, and the children on the other side of the mountain did not need money to go to school.
Wang Dingguo was so moved by this that he cut his hair, let go of his newly wrapped feet, ended his marriage to the Li family with the help of his uncle and his friends, and walked out of the small mountain village, and in 1933, Wang Dingguo, who had just turned 20, joined the Red Army.
Wang Dingguo was also a female soldier in the Long March of the Red Army, and she was well aware of the difficulties and obstacles of turning over snowy mountains and crossing meadows, but Wang Dingguo was tenacious, and even if he told these past events to his descendants in his later years, he told them in a very ordinary tone.
By 1937, Wang Dingguo and Xie Jueya were happily married, the two spent more than 30 years together, had 7 children, and in 1971, Xie Jueya passed away, so how is his children developing now? Everyone has a chance, and it is true that the tiger father has no dogs.
The eldest daughter, Xie Hong, who has now passed away, served as the director of the Ministry of Finance; the youngest daughter, Xie Yaxia, studied in Germany in her early years and is now working in Medicine in Germany.
The eldest son, Xie Piao, was born in Lanzhou, when World War II was not over, so Xie Piao grew up in Yan'an, was rendered by the red ideas, graduated from the Military Engineering College in 1965, served in the Air Force, and after the 1970s, Xie Piao worked in the Beijing Municipal Planning Commission, the State Import and Export Commission, the Ministry of Economy and Trade and the Chinese Embassy in Italy.
After the 1990s, Xie Piao was sent abroad to engage in economic and trade, and now he has retired and lived a peaceful life and enjoyed the happiness of the world.
Xie Jueya's second son, Xie Fei, was born in Yan'an in 1942, and he chose a different path from Xie Piao, graduating from the directing department of the Beijing Film Academy in 1965, and in 1978, Xie Fei directed his first film "Fire Baby", officially starting his directing career.
Xie Fei has also won awards in his directing career, and in 1986, Xie Fei won the Don Quixote Award at the 36th San Sebastian International Film Festival for his feature film "Xiangnu Xiaoxiao", which was adapted from Shen Congwen's short story "Xiao Xiao".
In 1990, Xie Fei's film "The Year of The Life" won the Silver Bear Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement at the 40th Berlin International Film Festival, and three years later, he won the Golden Bear Award at the 43rd Berlin International Film Festival for his film "Fragrant Soul Girl"... By 2018, Xie Fei won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the WeLink International Film Festival.
The third son, Xie Lie, worked in the State Ocean Affairs Bureau before his retirement; the fourth son, worked in the General Staff Department of the People's Liberation Army before retirement; the fifth son, Xie Yaxu, still works for the State Council Administration, and Xie Yaxu also served as his mother Wang Dingguo's personal secretary in his early years.
Wang Dingguo and Xie Jueya have a deep affection, especially that patriotic feeling, very strong, after Xie Jueya's death, Wang Dingguo began to clean up the manuscripts and diaries left by Xie Lao, wrote and published a large number of Xie Jueya documents, in 1994 Wang Dingguo retired from his post, still very concerned about the development of the country.
In June 2020, Wang Dingguo died in Beijing at the age of 108, and her life has witnessed many changes in China, from poverty to wealth, from weak to strong, Wang Dingguo looks back on her life, and there is not much regret.
